(KOL = Key Opinion Leader: influencers paid life-changing money to pump tokens and/or NFTs)
Yesterday I asked one crypto KOL a single, painfully specific question about the NFT they’re shilling: "Can they give us assurance that every single holder will receive airdrops for every project in their ecosystem?" Today I’m writing this rant. If you’ve ever spent 5 minutes on Crypto Twitter, you already know the script.
You drop one polite question:
“Bro, where’s the audit?”
"Bro, what's the utility of their NFT?"
"I wish we can have assurance of free airdrops for every projects by holding their NFT"
“Team doxed or nah?"
Next thing you know, 500 replies in 10 minutes:
“Jealous poor”
“FUDDER stay poor”
“Bitcoiner dinosaur”
“Ratio + you’re broke”
Why do they react like you just torched their Lambo?
Because you basically did. Here’s the ugly truth they’ll never tweet: You’re not criticizing the project. You’re criticizing their entire net worth.
Average mid-tier KOL (100k–1M followers)? 70-95% of their money is in the exact tokens or NFT they shill daily.
When you say “this looks overvalued,” you’re not debating tech.
They’re paid ABSURD money to stay delusional.
Current going rate for a 7-day campaign: Tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars, cash upfront. Free tokens worth beyond our imagination post-listing.
One bearish tweet = blacklisted from their group chat
No more deals. Career over. Admitting they’re wrong = instant execution.
Name one KOL who pumped a coin for 9 months then tweeted: “My bad guys, it’s a rug.” Exactly. None.
Because the second they do, engagement dies, algo buries them, DMs go silent.
They’d rather ride the rocket into the ground than admit they were wrong. Their audience literally pays them to lie.
Half the replies defending them come from followers who are also bag holding.
They don’t want facts.
They want hopium.
Because if the KOL doubts, they doubt.
If they doubt, they sell.
If they sell, price crashes.
If price crashes, everyone loses.
Bottom line:
Next time a KOL calls your valid question “FUD” and hundreds of bots on you, just smile.
You didn’t hurt their feelings.
You threatened their entire livelihood.
Save this. Share it with your friends, still aping “1000x gems.”
