You don't need expensive camera, you just need a entry level camera in the beginning, many people now a days shooting award winning photos with mobile phone camera. Main thing is not the gear, it’s you.
- Know you gear: whatever the gear you are using its better to understand very well first, for that you can read the manual and can also watch Video tutorials.
- Keep learning: learn the basics first, don't try to be a pro overnight. You can learn by many ways- YouTube is one of the best, other than you can read blogs, can join workshops, photography groups and lastly can enroll a photography course.
- Keep practicing: there is no alternative but practicing. Shoot photos as much as you can. Make a free time to shoot, if possible every day, at least one hour. Subjects is around you, just open your eye and start shooting. Try everything in different different angles.
- Make connection to other photographers: try to make connection to other photographers, to know them and their way of work will be most helpful to you and also you will get some free valuable advice from them which some stands priceless.
- Submit your photos to competition: try to submit your best photos to competition, even you don't win any of them, don't stop to submit.
- Feedback: show your works to your friends and family and ask them to give true feedback even its demotivating. But don't take it as negative, accept the truth and do work with them to improve yourself.
- Work with fun: When you shoot it’s very important that you are in good mood and fully energized. If you enjoy your work then the outcome will be tremendous . Have fun.
