Today I decided to talk about ads on YouTube. We all know that ads are a primary source of income for YouTube creators. whether we like it or not that is one way we can support our favourite YouTubers. But where should you put it? Even though many have their own opinion about it, I think it is up to you to decide where to place your ads. you can place ads at the beginning of the video, in the middle, or at the end of the video. But, if YouTube and the Ad-Sense are your primary sources of income I suggest not to put ads at the end of the videos as most people won't watch it unless they are (maybe) a super fan.
But You have to find the correct time and how many ads you gonna place in one video. Basically, you have to find that sweet spot for your own audience. To decide that I suggest you look at your YouTube videos as a viewer, not the creator. Think about whether you mind watching an ad before a video or in the middle of it. If you don't mind watching an ad before each video how long will you watch it without getting annoyed? In my opinion, if your video is only a few minutes long one ad at the start of the video is fine. To me, I normally don't mind watching a 5-second ad at the beginning of a video. But if you decide to make more money(or become greedy) by showing one more ad right after that first one, that's the time I stop watching that video.
On the other hand, if your video is a bit long video, say a few hours. You can put multiple ads in different sections of that long video. But again you have to find out what your audience like. You can try putting an ad in the most exciting moment of the video(In other words at the climax of your video). It is a sure way to make viewers watch ads so you get the most out of that video(ad money-wise). But it can make the experience a bad one and could hurt the overall channel. So at the end of the day, I think it takes time and experience to find the best place for you to put ads in your YouTube videos.
