I recently wrote a guide on how to use Metamask to receive your payments from Publish0x. I was very happy and proud that I did something meaningful for the community here. But it came with a price. You see, I created a new Metamask wallet in that tutorial and used it to get my money from Publish0x. To tell you frankly, the USDC I received that day can't be used because I don't have any gas in my wallet. Each transaction requires Gas, which means you need some native token of the network you are trying to use.
I used to pay for gas by allowing wallets to just deduct from the token I have. For example, if I have USDC, I pay the fee with USDC. not the network's native token. Until now, I haven't had any issues with Gas. But because I used MetaMask to receive the withdrawal, now I have to send some native tokens to the wallet to use as gas. That would be Optimism, I believe. For this problem, Metamask has an alternative gas option called "gas station". The problem is, this option is only available on the Ethereum mainnet and the BNB Smart Chain.
You would say just buy or exchange some of your crypto for Ethereum or Optimism. The problem is I don't have Crypto, I'm willing to exchange, and I don't like to use exchange websites because of KYC requirements. I just receive crypto from websites like Publish0x and use it. I thought the whole migration to the Optimism network was good, but the problem is its practicality. I can't use my trusted exchanges to receive withdrawals because they don't have the Optimism network under USDC deposits. I had to use Metamask, but totally forgot why I hadn't used it, even after 5 or so years in the crypto community.
Anyhow, if you are going to use the Metamask wallet to receive withdrawals from Publish0x, just know that you gonna require gas to do anything with them. Other than that, you're gonna have to swap your USDC(OP) to another network if you're planning on depositing it on the Bitrefill website, because as of now, they don't have USDC(OP) deposits. Man, I miss the early days of simply using crypto on their native networks. That being said, I am in no way or shape, or form of a cryptocurrency expert. I'm learning as I go. So if you have any other ideas on how I can use USDC I earn here, please let me know about that. You will be highly appreciated for that.
Thanks, guys.
