How Scammers Use E-Books To Scam You

I think you know about the site ''gumroad''. that site allows you to sell e-books. So you can make some money out of that. but do you know some people use this site to scam you? well if not here's how it can happen.

let me explain it in a real-life example.

I saw a post on Facebook about a way to make money with Instagram. it said he will teach people how to make 500$ a week with Instagram. So I contacted that person and ask about it. right away he gave me a link to an e-book. So I'm like ''This can't be good''.

Well if you are selling an e-book just create a post saying you are selling it. don't tell people you will teach them something and when they contact you, thinking you will teach them something, don't give them just your selling link. at least give them some details first.

So, before clicking on that link, I asked few questions about that book and he answered them. then I thought I need to give it some time and see. so I waited. but that person keeps trying to sell that book to me. asking questions like ''do you like it''?

THEN IN THE NEXT DAY,

I saw that same guy or girl has commented on one of my posts. he has commented like following

Do you have Instagram?

Then I,
Yes, I do why?

then he,
Do you want to make money with it?

Then I,
Can you do that?

Then he said,
Yes, DM me I will show you.

(heck no buddy. I ain't gonna DM you. because I know, when people tell you to DM like that, there's something going on. like cheating or scamming )

So I commented back,
You were the guy who tried to sell an e-book, weren't you?

Then he said,
yes. get this e-book and you will see.

Then I asked,
'See' see what bro?

Then that person,
How much money you will get

Then I asked the price of his book and he said he wants 30$ for it.

price that person asked

For an e-book, it is too much. so I went on google and start researching. I found that same e-book for only 2.88$ on Amazon. and the e-book had only 12 pages.

(not recommending this book or not saying it is bad. but it was the book that person trying to sell for you know how much)

I already knew the name of that e-book from our last inbox messaging the other day. but I asked for the name again. so I can catch him/her red-handed. then he commented, the link to his ebook selling store. which was from gumroad website.

Then I,.... yeah. Please just check these screenshots. I think it will be easy to read.

So yeah. that's how scammers use digital products to scam you. so, when shopping, be careful and do some research to save your money.

hey! I mean if you want to re-sell an e-book it's up to you. but if you are going to charge more than double the original price, it's called scamming. not business. well, it's ok to add like 2 to 5 dollars. But, Do you even have the rights to sell someone else's copyrighted products. if not then it is illegal too.

good thing I waited. right? so my guys, if you get into a similar situation like that. you can just use the internet to find details about that product and save your money. remember to double-check the price and the age of the e-book because its information can be outdated. also, it's great if you can get samples to read before you buy the actual book.

So yeah. that's it. I hope you learned something..!
