We all have hobbies that we can't afford. But we hope one day we will be able to afford them. At least I think like that. so in this article I will be telling you about expensive and dangerous hobbies I just gave up on.
Battlebots

I love the program Battlebots. if you haven't heard of them, it's a competition where people make robots and battle them in an arena. one day I want to battle in that arena. that's the dream. But it's a very expensive hobby. So until I save up some money just for that hobby, I will try to learn as much as I can about building robots. when building robots there are many trades you need to master. for example electronics and mechanical engineering. so hey let's hope one day I will be able to build a battlebot and go to the show, because why not?
3D Printing

3D printing fascinates me. I love how you can build anything you can imagine. The Problem is a decent 3D printer is very expensive and I haven't seen a shop in my area selling them. also, there is a learning curve. but because there are free resources like YouTube videos, it's just a matter of making up your mind and learning that trade.
Discus Breeding
I am a fishkeeper by heart. fish keeping goes way back with me. when I was in school, one day after school my parents bought me a fish tank. I remember that day even today very clearly. that's how I started this hobby. Now I have more than 10 aquariums and ponds. I have and still breed small fish like guppies, mollies, platy and etc...

But, after I saw a fish tank full of discus on YouTube a few years ago I wanted to have discus too. Not just to keep them but to breed them and try to make a profit too. but in my area, there are no discus breeders or aquarium shops that have them. Online I see a pair of adult discus goes for so much
money. The cheapest I have seen is 8000. also, you need to change the water like every day. and their food (breeders mainly use beef heart) is expensive too.
so because they are too expensive to buy and keep, I have just given up on them for the time being. If I, one day able to build a fish room with automatic water changes and whatnot I might give Discus a try.
Keeping Lovebirds

Parakeets or Budgies, an Australian species that is very popular among hobbyists around the world are, very easy to care for species of birds. I used to have a big colony of them. I loved watching how nature creates colorful mutations when you mix different colored birds together. But one day a snake attacked my enclosure and I saw eggs and small birds bulging from its belly. That made me sad and Made me feel guilty. So I had to sell my whole colony. I would love to keep them again but afraid snakes will attack again. if you have any tips about snakes when raising birds, please drop them down in the comments below. I would really appreciate it.
Precious Metal Recovery

Did you know that you can get precious metals like gold, silver, and many other things from e-waste? I really liked that when I found out about it. Not just because of the value but because of the process you have to go through in order to recover these metals. so I started collecting and did some research and learned this hobby can be fatal if you don't have proper equipment and proper training. because you have to use corrosive acids and extreme heat in order to separate these metals. also, the reactions produce deadly fumes and in the end, you end up with a toxic liquid that is harmful both to you and the environment. So because this hobby is very deadly and I don't have enough knowledge, I ended up selling my e-waste to professionals.
The bottom line is I think you shouldn't spend money on things you can't afford. you need to keep your money for important things like medicine and food. If you dream enough, one day you might be able to realize that dream. Also, don't put yourself in danger just because of your hobbies and you saw others doing it.
Play it safe guys!
That's it. Thanks for reading this article and I will see you in my next article.
