1.)CHOOSE A LANGUAGE!
Well, first thing first to become a programmer you must know a programming language. There are plenty of coding languages out there, so choose what suits you more depending on your need here is a list:
- Java Script.
- PHP.
- R.
- C++
- C.
- C#
- Java.
- Python.
Pro-tip you should choose the language which will help you towards your goal.
2.)Set a goal!
Set a goal, within your boundaries. This goal should be realistic, and something which you will enjoy doing. Remember always enjoy what you do because if you do so it will be much easier, but if you force yourself it will be like a chore and most likely you will end up quitting! For example, you can set a goal of developing a website, a video game, etc, This goal should be your choice and dream of using programming!
3.)Work towards your goal
So now that you have chosen what you want to code or program, you have an idea on your head of what you want to do. What I would suggest is to break down this goal into smaller steps(goals) and this way you shall be more motivated and not burned out.
4.)Do smaller projects
What I mean by doing smaller projects is to just do random coding projects. Basically putting this knowledge you gained in practice. This way you will learn your strength and weaknesses. Wich is a very good thing because you will learn from your own mistakes.
5.)Test your knowledge
There are plenty of websites that will test your coding skills. You should consider joining them, not only will they show you your mistakes and weaker areas. But also prepare you for the market and the industry. You will know what to do and when to do it.
6.)PRACTICE!
Do you remember the famous quote "Practice makes Perfect!".Keep that in mind, you should never give up if you want to be the best. Always remember that programming is not a piece of cake. It's a long journey so better make the most out of it and have fun!
