For a couple weeks Odell Beckham Jr was the NFL headlines as we all wondered and tried to predict which team he would lend his services to for the upcoming playoff run. Initially it seemed like he was going back to Rams or join the Bills, but it didn't materialize for either team. Then things heated back up when Jerry Jones flirted with the thought of bringing him in which led to word about a possible reunion in the Big Apple. Finally OBJ and those two teams had official meetings and it turns out at this time he won't be joining either team. Those meetings turned out to be nothing more than conversations as he didn't work out for either team. It kinda looks like he won't be playing with anyone this season and may instead choose to keep strengthening the knee that suffered a torn ACL for the second time in almost as many years. Then Jerry Jones seemed to close the door on any Cowboy fans hopes of seeing OBJ with the star on the side of his helmet. Instead the Cowboys went with the veteran and former Colt TY Hilton whom I haven't seen in a couple years so I was kinda surprised at the signing. Hilton was a speed guy with good hands and route running especially when the Colts had Andrew Luck. That seems like a long time ago now so it's gonna be interesting to see how he produces in this Cowboys offense. I definitely think he will fit in with this offense and depending on what he has left in the tank can open the field up even more for Lamb & Gallup. I thought the Cowboys would use Turbin occasionally with his speed and shiftiness on screen plays, reverses & maybe even out of the backfield just to create that extra wrinkle that would throw a defense off balance, but that hasn't happened yet. Maybe their saving some of that for the playoffs. If Hilton is able to provide something extra to this already dangerous offense of the Cowboys when hitting on all cylinders then they could become close to unstoppable as we head into these playoffs. Even if he doesn't I still think that the Cowboys are a serious contender this year despite the ups and downs. They're one of the few teams that I think has an offense & defense where one can take up the slack for the other and win a close game so I have the Cowboys on my list of teams you don't wanna not take serious come playoff time.
