Jacob Degrom is back and proving himself after a long rehab from his right elbow injury from last season and his right shoulder complaint from spring training.
Degrom threw 6 scoreless innings striking out 10 with 76 pitches against the Philadelphia Phillies earlier today. His main pitches today were his Fastball which topped out at 102 MPH and his slider which averaged 93 MPH. The two time Cy Young award winner has come back strong, today was his third start and is looking very impressive. Buck Showalter said after the game "I've got a Governor on him" the Met's had a soft pitch limit of 80 pitches on him for this start. The Mets organization still have a few restrictions on the starter after going through a long rehab.
When Degrom left the field the mets went to Seth Lugo, Trevor May and closed out the win with Edwin Diaz, who clocked up his 200th career save. The Met's won 1-0 and are now 5.5 games ahead of Atlanta in the NL East.
