The Philadelphia Phillies take game one of the World Series.
The Astros hosted game one of the series and jumped out to a two run lead in the second inning with a two run homerun from Kyle Tucker. Justin Verlander the Astros starting pitcher started the game hot and sat down the first 9 Phillies hitters. Verlander had great command and constantly hit high 90's with his fastball.
The Astro's bats stayed hot in the 3rd inning with Kyle Tucker knocking another one out of the park. Going into the fourth inning the Astros had a 5 run lead. This is where the momentum shifted and the Phillies bats came to life. Three singles and a double in the top of the fourth all came with two outs. The Phillies knocked in 3 runs in the fourth and tying the game in the 5th making the score 5-5.
Relief pitching and great defense from both teams kept the runs away.
Realmuto hit a bomb in the top part of the tenth inning taking the score to 6-5, and the Phillies left runners stranded.
The astros had every chance with runners in scoring position after Bregman hit a double and a wild pitch gets him across to third. Diaz grounds out to the third baseman Edmundo Sosa to end the game.
The Phillies lead the Astros 1 game to nil in the best of seven. The Houston Astros now have a 3 win 10 Loss record at Home in World Series Games.
