Bitcoin was born from the ethos of the Cypherpunk,a group of tech activities who championed freedom, decentralization and privacy through cryptography. They envisioned a digital currency that would bypass government, banks and all forms of centralized control.Inspired by these ideals,Satoshi Nakamoto created Bitcoin as a peer-to-peer electronic cash system, resistant to censorship and free from intermediaries.
However Bitcoin current trajectory seems to drift away from that radical vision. The entrance of institutional investors, the launch of ETFs and strict compliance with government regulation (KYC/AML) have transformed Bitcoin into an investment vehicle rather than a tool for financial liberation.
Instead of decentralization we see centralization.Instead of privacy full identification.Instead of independence, cooperation with the very systems of power Bitcoin was designed to circumvent.
The question that remains is:
Will Bitcoin stay a vehicle for freedom or will it become the new face of the old system?
