Hello Everyone.

Recently I decided that I wanted to get involved in a hobby of some sort. I watched quite a few YouTube videos to help me decide. I was choosing between LEGO, scale modeling(cars mostly) and gunpla(Gundam plastic models). With scale modeling seeming to need painting and possibly more patience it was ruled out first. That left Lego and gunpla in the running.

I'm sort of an inexpensive person at heart. I also have no income as I am technically disabled due to having the stroke. Therefore, the hobby I wanted to get involved in needed to be somewhat inexpensive. After watching several videos about LEGO, I had come to the conclusion that I was interested in doing a LEGO city. That would require me to set aside an area in the house for a table of some sort to "house" the city. After looking at what I could locally source and checking out Amazon and finding out the closest official LEGO store was at least 2 hours away, I decided against LEGO. I felt like I would spend way too much building out the city. The sets I was looking at were $30 at the lowest end and $100 ish at the upper end.

That left gunpla as a possibility. The only local source was a Hobby Lobby. Luckily for me they were having a 40% sale on model kits. This included gunpla. I needed everything to start the hobby. I forgot to get some sandpaper. I was able to purchase a pair of nippers an exacto knife with replacement blades. A cutting mat. 2 bases for High Grades. An EG(entry grade) model to start as it is supposed to be the easiest. I also bought 2 HG(high grade) models. Thanks to the sale I was able to buy all of this for what 1 larger LEGO set or 2 small LEGO sets would have cost. This wouldn't have made a dent in any LEGO city.

I'm very happy with my decision to attempt to get into gunpla. Not quite sure when I will start building these models. I assume that the EG will be kind of quick to build while the HG models will take me a few days to a week to build correctly. I am still excited for F1 Manager 2024 to release in 10 days. As well as the TEW IX beta the Saturday after that. TEW IX will release one week after the beta.

I am watching the LEC Summer Split playoffs. The LCS Summer Split will continue July 20th. I plan to watch it.
