Weekly Rambling #19

By SouthernStar71 | SouthernStar71 | 27 Apr 2024

Hello. Today I'm going to ramble about what I've been doing lately and a little bit about what I plan to do in the future. Those of you who have been reading know that I live alone as no one in my immediate family is alive. For the most part I lived with a parent or both of them. Dad passed 1/23/08. My only brother passed 10/5/21. Mom passed 11/5/22. That put Dad passing on my Grandmothers birthday and Mom was 13 months after my brother and 1 month after she finished Radiation.

Lately I've been watching a lot of the NHL Playoffs and a tiny bit of the NBA Playoffs. This has been keeping me up past 10pm. Friday night I was up until almost 11:30 and I still went to bed before all the game were done. I usually put a little money on the games to add some extra spice to them. I do risk very little. As I'm disabled and have no income, I live off savings. Luckily the house and vehicle are paid for and I "only" have to pay for monthly bills. The largest bill is the TV/Internet/Phone bill. The Electricity bill is next. Water and Trash are also paid by me. As I don't spend much else and the rest is charged and paid in full each month, my biggest outlays are for Property Tax and Insurance. The Tax is yearly and the Insurance is twice a year. Hopefully once I reach 65 I will get some sort of monthly check. Thankfully I've been able to get SNAP benefits which pays for my groceries and I have Kentucky's form of Medicaid which takes care of my meds and my Dr. visits.

MSI starts the middle of next week. I plan to watch the LEC and LCS teams. The other games will be watched at 2X speed. I have missed not watching LoL. With the aforementioned playoffs taking quite a bit of my time, I haven't missed LoL as much as I would have normally missed it.

I do watch TV most nights. I seem to enjoy PBS shows that they bring over from England and France. Also, most of the Masterpiece shows are enjoyable. I have watched Shogun too. It was very good. As far as the PBS shows, I've watched Doc Martin, Father Brown, Mr. Bates vs. The Post Office, Astrid, Paris Murders, Nina, and a few others I'm blanking on right now. I do watch some American TV. Right now I'm up to date with Elsbeth, Tracker, Will Trent, Alert:MPU, CSI:Vegas. I also enjoy watching Little People. I watch 7 Little Johnstons and Little People/Big World. I've watched some other shows involving LP's.

If you have any mystery/cop shows that you think I might enjoy, please list them below.

I have been keeping my PT going in OOTP 25. I did get relegated to Silver League. Most likely I will stay in Silver for next week(season), I haven't spent any extra money and while the team is doing well, currently I am running into some very good teams.

When FM25 releases I plan to give it a go. I do watch a couple of series on YT and that seems to fire me up. I don't really understand the fine bits of soccer, but I enjoy FM. Recently I discovered how to scale the visuals in the game which makes it easier for me to read the screen. That should make playing the game more enjoyable for me. I've been tempted to start a game as it is about 5 months before FM25 is released.

Thanks for reading my rambling. Have a good week. I hope you return next week for my Rambles.
