Browsing Coinmarketcap you could stumble upon a coin named the 42-Coin. If you know the meaning of the number 42 being considered as the answer to everything, it might get a grin out of you. But then, when you look at the price of it...
Yes.. I also couldn't believe it at first, but it's true. This coin ranked 896th on Coingecko is the most expensive cryptocurrency currently available! But it gets crazier: If you trust Coinmarketcap it once was valued at $1,146,320 USD on the 14th of January 2014. With that in mind it feels weird to know that it hit it's All Time Low on the 12th of May 2016 -exactly three years ago- with a price of $8.99.
Only 42 coins available
There are only 42 42-coins in circulation. That is the reason for these extreme price fluctuations. Currently its Market Cap is at around $720,000 featuring a volume of $207 in the last 24 hours. All 42 coins are already mined, therefore the current block reward is 0. The founders of the project are proud of it being the highest valued currency and also state that it is the first coin that faces deflation instead of inflation.

Even though on the site it says the coin is a safe investment this really short article was more a fun fact. I am not really expecting this coin to have a bright future ahead as only 42 coins are available and that is simply not enough to create a working currency. Despite I am really looking forward to how the coin might develop. It could be that the coin reaches a point where it has no value or it might develop to a coin that is fun to have if you have a little bit too much money. You never know, but nevertheless I figured not everyone knows about this, so i wanted to share it with the users of Publish0x to help you brag with your knowledge about crypto in front of your crypto-friends :D
