If you have read any of my posts here you know my life was anything but normal, even for pre pandemic normal.
In 2010 I was in need of a substance to help me through a difficult time of my life. I found, by searching the once free and open internet Google search engine, the one safe and easy way to purchase what I needed online at the Silk Road website.
Below is just one of the Democrat commies that fought so hard to have the owner of a website hunted down and jailed for life just for helping people find what they needed without the stress of meeting face to face with every day crazed street dealers. I thought I would throw in a political jab as it seems very relative in today's world where we are heading at full steam to a communist world and we were warned by Federal employees in the know but I guess censorship was prevalent in the past as well.
I found out quickly that I needed special software for accessing the dark web which was not as easy to configure in those years. The Tor network is an onion networkThe other thing I needed was a new payment method called Bitcoin.
Only one place in Canada could you buy Bitcoin and that process was long! I would take 200 Canadian dollars to my bank up the street and deposit the money to the account of supposedly trusted people who were verified on WOT or Web of Trust, and wait for the evening tabulation to make it appear in my account. Once the funds were available I exchanged the Canada dollars to Bitcoin which was trading between 13 and 15 dollars!
I finally got used to this weird new world and did my business with anonymity and encryption. Talking to people all over the world with PGP encryption and just fooling around with so many Bitcoins it makes my head spin to this day! I would send and receive 25 here 37 there and even bought some mining equipment for 713 Bitcoins, which was held up for 18 months while the FCC dealt with some kind of anti trust case. It was finally resolved and my mining equipment for 713 BTCs was actually delivered to my house, practically useless as the difficulty level had increased enough in that time to make the profitability exponentially lower. At least I didn't buy a pizza for 10,000 Bitcoins like the famous guy whose action created an actual Bitcoin holiday!
Then one day I logged in as usual but I was getting nervous about my wallet stuffed with Bitcoins and I was wanting to transfer them to my personal wallet as the chat room was buzzing with strange things happening to people.
I got Tor up and logged into the Silk Road site. The blood drained from my brain and I saw something never seen before on any website, dark or clear net!
