From Slump to Surge: Reasons Behind Bitcoin's Price Contraction and Potential Bullish Signals!

By CryptoManthan | Smart Crypto | 3 Aug 2023

For the recent couple of months, it is seen that there is significant reduction in the Bitcoin price growth. There can be multiple reasons such as lack of interest in the market, regulatory uncertainty, and various bankruptcies and hence the investors losing the trust in putting capital in new crypto projects. Here in this article, we will look into the reasons from the larger perspective, without getting into the individual reasons. So, let's dive into it..!!

Which major factors affect?

Let's first understand how we will investigate this matter. Considering crypto exchanges as the major role in bringing the fiat currency in the cryptocurrency market and providing the liquidity in the market. So, factors like the Bitcoin outflow (mean) from spot market, inflow mean on exchanges, and lastly the trading volume of Bitcoin on exchanges can help in understanding the market dynamics. Now based on these three factors we will see how they have affected or played role in the decreased Bitcoin price growth.

Exchange Outflow Mean (Bitcoin)

Bitcoin Exchange Outflow Mean Chart

As you can see in the chart above, it clearly shows that the there is significant decrease in the outflow of the Bitcoin in the market. The common perception of the indicator or this 'Exchange Outflow Mean" chart is that when the value is going up it suggests that the people are moving their Bitcoin out of the exchanges most probably for storing medium and long-term, which suggests the confidence in the market and a bullish sign and vice-versa.

And here the Bitcoin outflow mean is decreasing which clearly indicates that the people are less interested in moving out their Bitcoin from exchanges.

Exchange Inflow Mean (Stablecoins)

In the chart below you can see that inflow mean of the Stablecoins is also decreasing which tells us that there is lack of funds on the exchanges to buy the Bitcoin. Lack of stablecoins inflow means that people are depositing less stablecoins in the market and they are not in hurry to buy Bitcoin or any other crypto.

Lack of Stablecoins on the market tells that the interest or the confidence among the traders is decreasing maybe it is for entire crypto space or due to current market and other conditions.

Bitcoin Trading Volume

Volume is one of the best indicators that tells lots of stories about the ongoing market conditions. As we have already discussed in the previous article, 'Analyzing the Structural Changes in Bitcoin Trading Volume', that there is significant drop in the Bitcoin trading volume. You can see it in the chart below that the Bitcoin spot volume has drastically dropped.

Conclusion

Now what do we understand from this data? My opinion on this is that Bitcoin is in the critical situation where a small push in either direction can lead the massive rallies. And as per the data we saw in this article above, there is clearly a lack of liquidity in the market to have an upward push! For Bitcoin and the crypto market to get into the bull run, these things needed to be improved and then only we can see the growth in the Bitcoin price.

But it is important to understand that things can change in small period, especially in crypto market. So, be ready for whatever comes next!
