What is going on with the Brexit for the rest of EU?

By MikeZillo | Smart Crypto Investing | 5 Jan 2021

It’s like the Odissea. A huge journey across the world with different players and different people that tried to distract Ulysses from his journey.

First votation happened in 2016 but the EU and the UK agreed to maintain a pacific cohabitation.

What has changed since January 1st?

Goods can still be traded without double taxation in most part of the cases but EU and UK had to agree on specific rules and terms.

Freedom to move and work between UK and EU has ended. Now EU inhabitants will need the passport to go to UK and viceversa. United Kingdom nationals will need a Visa to stay in the European Union for than 90 days in a single 180 days period.

Northern Ireland will try to stay closer to EU than to UK to avoid further troubles at the border between Northern Ireland and the rest of the Irish Republic.

Double taxation is out of discussion but the customs are now 100% responsible for what is going in and what is going out, meaning that the UK customs and their paperwork may represent a delay in what was considered an efficient and fair trade.

Can we consider 1st January 2021 the end of the “Soap Opera” Brexit?

I really do not think so. Rules have been defined but that does not mean that cannot change in the next future and every change will require both parties to agree with or a tax and fare war may begin.

UK Expats will see the closure to their bank accounts, and this will happen to all UK that are living or working abroad and had a UK bank account. Even customers with 40 years loyal customers will be subject to these restrictions.
Catherine, a Manchester original UK woman, she is living in Messina (ITA) to teach English and she publicly declared that she will leave 86 cents in her bank account just to complicate the bank’s life.

And what about a 2029 new referendum for a “BrEnter”?

This suggestion comes from  Will Hutton stating how lots of people that wanted to stay in EU, may eventually think seriously of taking a “counter-referendum” to bring back UK into EU. If the EU will survive until 2029.

IS there any UK reader, or others having relationships with UK?

What are your thoughts on this matter?
