Hey good night peeps,

It's Friday night in Barbados and I am already yawning. I mean it has been a tough week, with meetings to the nth power. I feel older than 41 to be honest. I feel like I should be far more lively than I feel now. LOL. Today I had a staff meeting which was  semi-online. I was the facilitator for staff who do not have online access. So as you may know it was all about making sure the audio video setup was on point. It can be fairly embarrassing when you invite people to an online meeting and Ts are certainly not crossed. I had a couple hiccups due to the fact that I was not totally concentrating on the meeting and there was a guy speaking to the presenter, who just happened to be the CEO and the meeting app was on mute. Hahahahha, I am laughing now but I certainly was not laughing then, since everyone was trying to get my attention and I was buried deep in my mobile phone dealing with another work matter.

There was also another incident where another presenter was seemingly ticked off at the questions he was receiving and pretended that he was having technical difficulties. So the staff member asking the questions, began asking, "can you hear me, can you hear me" to which the presenter replied, "no I can't. LOL. I was in shock to laughter and the whole room was in stitches at the response of the presenter. Across the room all I could hear was snickering and whispers of, "I thought he couldn't hear, so how is he answering?" General staff meetings are always so entertaining.

Anyway, the day went along fairly quickly otherwise and work seemed like a ghost town for most of the day. It felt like most people were working from home. COVID has provided so many avenues for malingering, even digital malingering. Wait, oh my goodness, how could I forget, we took a company photo today and I am still waiting on the pic and video to include in this post. The reason for the pic was in celebration of 54 years of independence. Barbados declared independence on November 30th 1966. Yes as a nation, we are merely babies. Although social gathering was in effect, it was still good to gather together as a group, wearing masks of course. We were dress in our traditional colours of Ultramarine and Gold. Yes this colour combination sound high tech but we looked really nice, plus the black broken trident made an awesome contrast. 

There was about 5 minutes of ignoring the photographer before we got our act together. He took the photo from an aerial view. He was hoisted in an 8 tonne load all and he took the photo with fancy camera and the company's GO PRO Hero 9, yes we have a Hero 9 don't be a hater. LOL.  Anyway it was good to be outside, then the rain came and we had to disperse immediately before we drowned. Point to note here, Barbados is in the tropics so cold for us is not a concern, but the rain is, and sometimes it can be very fast and heavy. There is a saying we have here in the island, "trouble doesn't set up like rain." Yeah, we have a lot of sayings.

So its Friday, it is wet outside and I am inside with my son and he is on his tablet, since he has finished most of his homework. Me, I am not studying tonight. My brain is just not able to absorb any more contract and commercial discussion. I am watching Star Trek Discovery with Commander Michal Burnham and probably fall asleep through it. So I am heading off where no man has gone before and become one with my sofa and turn my attention toward the USS Discovery. Live Long and Prosper.
