There are many situations when it would be useful to have a portable device, which can convert a simple text from one language to a text and spoken second language, without installation of any software/apps on your portable device.

In this post, we consider a simple tool, which can be used from any portable device connected to internet.

Suppose, you are meeting a foreign friend and want to greet her/him in a foreign language, you do not know. You can go to one of these URLs http://demo.ispreport.xyz/trans.html  or  http://demo.dynpass.online/transl/transl.html Please, note that it is not a https but http server. If your browser tells you that it is not a secure connection do not worry, it is a http server (no SSL encryption), not https server. If it automatically redirects you to https then delete “s” to stay on the http server. If you will use https you still will be able to translate text, but not be able to hear the translation.

Enter “Hello!” word into the text area, select the foreign language (in this example -French) on the right side and click on the button “Translate”.

As a result you get a textual translation. If you click on the button “Play”, you and your friend will hear the spoken word. Your friend can understand it.

Now, you friend wants to ask you a question. She/he selects “French” from the list on the left, “English” from the list on the right and enters the question in French “Comment était votre voyage?” Please, note that phrases should be included in “ “, otherwise only the first word will be translated.

After clicking on the “Translate” button the translation in English is: “How was your trip?“.

By clicking on the “Play” button you both can hear it.

Now, you want to answer this question. You select “English” from the list on the left, “French” from the list on the right and enter the answer in English.

"Thank you! It was great!"

After clicking on the “Translate” button the translation in French is: “Merci! C'était super!”.

By clicking on the “Play” button you both can hear it.

In this way, any two persons, who do not know other person mother language, can communicate with each other without interpreters, using only a device with a web browser connected to internet.

This is an experimental demo, so do not expect a lot from it. If many requests are sent to the server then audio files for some languages will not be generated.
