One of the biggest mistakes a new farm owner can make is believing that money alone can guarantee success in agriculture.
It can’t.
In 2023, a very influential and wealthy businessman decided to venture into agriculture.
Money wasn’t the problem.
He had plenty of it sitting comfortably in his account.
But there was one major problem…
He had no clear target.
No defined market.
No proper agricultural plan.
He simply had money and a passion for agriculture.
And that was where the journey began.
His second mistake was even bigger.
He leased a large piece of farmland from a Chief.
The Chief, being the traditional landowner, instructed some farmers who had been farming on that portion of land to vacate it.
The businessman believed he had done everything correctly.
But there was a problem…
You don't start a farm on a faulty foundation.
Before investing millions into farmland, you need to be absolutely sure about the ownership, history and security of that land.
Ideally, you want land that is free from disputes and complications.
Unfortunately, many villagers were not happy with what had happened.
Some of the farmers who were asked to leave were angry.
And gradually, people began looking for ways to frustrate the man's agricultural investment.
What started with excitement, money and big dreams was about to become a very expensive lesson.
And this is something every new farmer should pay serious attention to…
Agriculture is not just about having money.
There is a lot more you need to understand before putting your millions into the soil.
This is PART ONE.
In Part Two, I will tell you what happened next and how the situation began to cost this man millions of naira.
PART TWO DROPPING SOON
