It was true what they said about the Season 2 event's rewards structure -- it was totally possible for a free-to-play user to achieve the Chupacabra miner that was the reward for level 8 of this event:

With 12 days left in the event, I was FINALLY able to gather enough XP to claim that bastard by completing all the "play 40 times" quests of each week, along with the "view the..." quests, and didn't ever spend the 40RLT for 40 XP in any week. I had a total of 1 referral (for 15 XP), but what it really came down to was the religious collection of daily login rewards.

Was I worried I wouldn't make it?

No, actually.

If you've read any of my previous RollerCoin articles, you may have picked up on that I tend to over-analyze and leave very little to chance. So, true to fashion, I had calculated back in the first week or so of this event whether it would truly be possible as they claimed. In fact, I even knew what day I'd be getting it, which would be the 23rd of November (or rather, UTC midnight on the 24th).

This article isn't about that, though. This article is about a suspicious pop-up I got on the 22nd.

Yo, that's cool and all, but I've been grinding my ass off for almost a whole season now... There isn't a single day of the past 50 I have not played, so there's no chance that I didn't have that computer before seeing this message...

(For the uninitiated, the way RollerCoin works is that every day you can play casual platformer games to earn hashrate for mining certain currencies, and if you play a certain number of games you are rewarded with successively more "powerful" computers until you get this one after 60 plays, which can maintain the power you earn from games for up to seven days. If you don't play - or perhaps it's win now? - for a whole 24 hours, you lose the computer and have to earn it back.)

At this point, I'd expect something more along the lines of this:

So what does this mean?

Is it a temporary glitch? Something to do with me going back and forth between my phone and my tablet? Is it some shenanigan on the back end? Perhaps they are getting set to change the coding about how long you can keep the computer without having to re-earn it even if you haven't lost it?

Something to ponder.
