Airdrop Farming

Airdrop Farming

By shuyoong | shuyoong | 21 Mar 2024

So it's that time of the year again - the crypto bull market is back. During bull markets, more and more projects are launching with backing from huge VCs. This means that there will be many good projects offering airdrops to farm..

What is airdrop farming?

Airdrop farming refers to the activity of users seeking out new projects and being part of those projects early, before they are officially launched. In the crypto space, many projects with large marketing budgets funded by VCs tend to reward and incentivize early users or believers in their projects before the launch, often offering significant rewards to these early participants when the project is officially launched.

What are the most popular ways of airdrop farming?

In general, there are two ways to farm airdrops.

  1. Time and effort approach: Users invest time and effort to farm airdrops and are rewarded proportionally based on the time and effort they put in. This could involve tasks such as playing games, completing social tasks, trying out protocols before they launch, or contributing to the community.

  2. Capital approach: Users invest capital to farm airdrops and are rewarded proportionally based on the size of their capital. This might involve staking ETH to farm points on protocols like Eigenlayer and Blast.

For my case, as I have limited time, I usually only farm airdrops using the capital approach. Below, I will share details of two latest and up-and-coming protocols that will be giving out airdrops soon, which you can capitalize on.

A. Eigenlayer Points Farming

ETH restaking protocols have become very popular, and everyone is now farming Eigenlayer points through various protocols. Etherfi recently released their airdrop last week, and we believe that the upcoming one will be Renzo, which will also be offering airdrops. If you haven't started, you can follow the steps below to start farming:

  1. Have some ETH in your Metamask wallet or similar on the Ethereum Chain.

  2. Go to the Renzo protocol at https://app.renzoprotocol.com/?ref=0xcd3bff7b38a350d3a8d3587b1e5f3768f34ea9f9

  3. Restake your ETH and receive ezETH.

  4. Every hour, you will receive Eigenlayer points and Renzo points.

  5. If you want to further farm for Zircuit points, you can also go to the Zircuit protocol at https://stake.zircuit.com/?ref=h4ho0w

  6. Stake your ezETH in the Zircuit protocol to receive Zircuit points. By doing so, you will earn Zircuit points, Eigenlayer points, and Renzo points, and these points will be converted to official tokens during the official launch.

  7. Wait until the announcement of the release of airdrop tokens.

B. Blast Points Farming

Blast is a new Layer 1 chain that has recently launched, and they will be airdropping tokens to users who stake and use their protocols by May 2024. If you haven't started farming, you can follow the steps below to begin:

  1. First, visit Blast.io at https://blast.io/8CRJW and change your Metamask to Blast Chain.

  2. Then, connect your wallet and deposit ETH to the Blast chain. You can bridge your ETH from other chains to the Blast chain using bridges such as OwlTo Finance at https://owlto.finance/?ref=0xcd3Bff7B38A350D3A8D3587B1e5f3768F34eA9f9

  3. Next, earn ETH yield and Blast points while staking your ETH on the Blast chain. The Blast points will be converted to official tokens in May.

  4. You can also earn more Blast Points by supplying your ETH in the Orbit Protocol to earn $ORBIT tokens.

  5. Every day, you can claim your $ORBIT tokens and stake them for 4 years or any other desired timeframe to earn more Blast Points and Blast Gold."

That's it for now! I will share more projects that have potential airdrops in the coming post.
