20th - Norwich - In last place, I have put Norwich. I have nothing against this team, it's just that I believe unless they invest well in the next few weeks I don’t think their team will be strong enough for the ‘toughest league in the world’. I know that they got promoted as champions from such a tough championship but with only a few loans and a few lower-end transfers coming in I do believe they will struggle. It was hard for me to pick between 20th and 19th for Norwich, but I do believe that they will get relegated.
19th - Sheff Utd - Similar to Norwich, I believe that Sheff Utd will struggle next season. However, I have placed them above Norwich for 1 reason. I believe that, so far, they have performed so much better in the transfer market. The free transfer of the experienced Phil Jagielka will be vital for the first season in the Prem. Although he is certainly ‘past it’ I believe that he can bring a lot to the club. The signings of two great Championship players in Callum Robinson and Luke Freeman should help as well. However, I don’t believe that it will be enough to keep Sheff in the league.
18th - Burnley - Sean Dyche seems like the Sunday league manager who made it. He has done wonders for Burnley the last few seasons but I have a feeling that this season he may struggle. Two seasons ago Burnley were the surprise package in the Prem, even being in the top 4 for a few weeks, however, it seems like teams are starting to figure out how to beat them and unless they have a change in playing style I see Burnley getting relegation in the 2019/2020 season.
17th - Southampton - As a Portsmouth fan I so wanted to put Southampton in the relegation places, however, I believe that 1 man will be able to save them this season. That man is Che Adams. A great signing from Birmingham city and a bargain at only £15 million in my opinion. He will have a great first season and I believe he will be snapped up very quickly by a team playing in Europe.
16th - Aston Villa - Unlike Norwich and Sheff, I believe Aston Villa have invested well and this will be what keeps them up this season. It doesn’t seem like they are just buying players for the sake of it like Fulham did last season, but that are improving in the areas that caused them to miss out on automatic promotion last season. A lot of money has been spent so staying in the league is a must for Villa so that they can keep getting that sweet sweet TV money.
15th - Brighton - I believe that Brighton made an incredibly silly choice in sacking Chris Hughton at the end of last season. Even though they looked very week I believe that Hughton is a great manager and he would have been able to rebuild this summer. Having said that I think that Brighton will stay up. I think that when Dunk leaves for £45 million+, this will give Brighton the funds they need to fight this relegation. They have already signed a replacement in the shape of Matt Clarke, and with Trossard coming in then hopefully, that will give them the attacking threat that they need.
14th - Bournemouth - For me, Eddie Howe is one of the best English managers around, if not the best. He always seems to be able to create great footballing teams with very little money and I believe that he will do the same this season. Not too much to shout about in the form of transfers, but my faith in Eddie Howe’s abilities have them finishing 14th.
13th - Newcastle - I would so hate to be a Newcastle fan. From the hope of early pre-season when bookies had them as second-favorites to sign M’bappe, a rumored arrival of Jose Mourinho and a takeover in the midsts to now where Rafa has left, Mike Ashley still in charge and Steve Bruce rumored to be taking over as manager. Oh, how times change. However, I believe with the team they have they will be able to secure 13th and hopefully be taken over at some time soon.
12th - Crystal Palace - Palace are the team that seems to be selling their best players for, what I believe, is way more than they are worth. Wan-Bissaka had 1 good season for Palace, and although he is young, I believe that the fee of £45 million they got for him is a good piece of business. And with it seeming like Zaha will be leaving for £60 million+, Hodgson will have a good bit of money to play around with. As long as they invest that money right I believe Palace will finish in the same position as last year.
11th - Watford - Watford finished 11th last year and I believe that they will finish similar again. With no big players leaving or coming in it seems Watford haven't improved or got worse. I think they will aim to finish in the top 10 but I don’t see that happening.
