Unfortunately the answer is yes most of the alt coin is dead as u can see the market.

 Big projects like aion skycoin is worth nothing now this is a reality many people holding shit altcoins with the hope of that one day they will get rich or at least cover their losses

Maybe they are right but the reality what the market is showing is different.  we can see most of the altcoins are in development phase they have not deliver anything yet and no real users they are working on market money no profits except few this is the major point why altcoins is going to zero.

I agree that there is few altcoins which will perform good but when no one could say. i can just suggest u too stay away from shitcoins.
