In a stunning reversal of fortunes, it was reported that Sam Altman as joined Microsoft and will head a new in-house AI team, as reported by Bloomberg and Financial Times. The news was reported early on 20 Nov 2023 hours before the trading day starts. 

In the last week, it was reported that Sam Altman was ousted from OpenAI, a company that he founded. However, over the weekend, there was speculation that he would return to the company to retake the reins.

However Microsoft had other plans and blindsided everyone by hiring Altman, in an unexpected move. 

As a Microsoft shareholder, I am personally absolutely over the moon with this news. Altman would almost definitely be given more power and money in Microsoft than his former company and this would help from the tech giants AI offerings to new heights.
