Is God with me? The answer to that question is a definitive yes.
Isaiah 41:10 - "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
It is easy to feel that the Lord is with us when everything is going our way. We have a sense of well being. We are happy.
What about when times are tough?
We doubt. We question. We let ourselves feel that the Lord isn’t looking in our direction, that He is far away, or even that He doesn’t care.
Nothing could be farther from the truth.
God promises that He is always with us, in good times and bad, and His Word is full of examples of this. He was with Noah during the floods. He was with Daniel in the lion’s den, and with David on the field with Goliath.
Joshua 1:9 – “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
So why do we feel ignored?
We feel ignored because we think God isn’t answering our prayers. Rest assured, He has heard them, and He has responded to them. However, sometimes the answer is ‘No.’
These so-called Unanswered prayers aren’t proof that God has turned His back on us. It just means He has a different plan for us. We need to understand that God’s plan for us doesn’t always mirror what we want or what our plans are.
When we ask ourselves, ‘Is God with me?’, we need to be steadfast in the knowledge that God has promised that He will always be with us and that He will not forsake us. All we need to do is look to Scripture to strengthen us.
Matthew 28:20 – “Teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
