Yes, there are  Weddings in second life between residents.  In fact, there are wedding planners and beautiful wedding venues if a couple wants to get married. You could ask why someone wants to get married in a Second Life that is supposed to be only fun or a getaway from real life, but people do get involved with each other there and some just want to fulfill their dreams.

Of course,  they would have to spend some Linden Dollars (Second life Currency). The amount varies.  Weddings can be very expensive, depending on what you want to do. 

Like I said in my previous post since second life is not a game, but another life,  weddings follow the same rituals as in real life. There is the Ceremony and the Reception/Party after that.

Of course, a  couple can choose an automated wedding venue when then can elope, spend fewer Lindens, and still have a beautiful wedding, depending on the chosen venue. 

This is my wedding venue, in case you ever want to get married in Second Life. It is called Belle's Weddings and it's not expensive. The place is beautifully landscaped and decorated if you want to get married in a garden and there are instructions on how to set up the pay box - well, you have to pay to get married. There are the Wedding Ceremony and the Reception areas, a lake, a just married car with poses for photos and dancing. Romantic music plays all the time.

So, one thing is sure: ok Linden Labs say that you can download it and join it for free. That is true. But as soon as we start seeing things we want, it is hard not to spend money on Second Life. Anyway, this is a topic for another post.
