Until about ten years ago, when the word "Manchester" was heard in football, one's mind inevitably went to think of Manchester United, the historic English team with a case full of trophies and an incredible coat of arms, the team where wrote the history players like George Best, Cristiano Ronaldo, Ryan Giggs and many others. While Manchester United were winning the league and Champions League, Manchester City navigated the middle and lower leagues of the First Division-Premier League and seemed to become more and more of the city's second team as time went on. In 2008, however, things began to change: Manchester City was bought by the Abu Dhabi United Group with the intention of taking the club to the top of English and world football. From that season, the team began to carry out important market operations, buying, in a short time, players such as Carlos Tevez, David Silva, Dzeko, Boateng, Aguero... a new era was about to begin. Manchester City's results began to improve quickly and already in the 2010-2011 season, after many disappointing seasons, the first satisfactions arrived: FA Cup victory and 3rd place in the league with consequent return to the Champions League after a very long time. The following season, 2011-2012, was the definitive turning point: Manchester City won the Premier League for the third time in their history and confirmed themselves as a team of the highest level, capable of having their say not only in England but also in Europe . Over the following seasons, Manchester City continues to win titles and increase its Palmares and wins the English Championship again in 2013-2014. After a somewhat difficult period for the team, which in any case always obtains qualification for the Champions League, the team is entrusted to coach Pep Guardiola who will initiate an incredible leap in quality: The team continues to buy important players, most likely attracted also by the charm that the club was obtaining not only thanks to the results, but also thanks to the presence of such an important coach. With Guardiola begins the domination of Manchester City in England: 5 English Championships, 4 League Cups, 2 FA Cups, 2 Community Shields and the very prestigious Champions League, reached this year with enormous merit. Manchester City invested their money very well: They had a solid project from the start, they made the passes they had to make gradually, giving time to coaches and players to achieve the desired results, without much pressure and with ease. Thanks to the victories and the blazon achieved, Manchester City has exponentially increased its revenues, becoming one of the teams with the largest turnover in the world and also increasing its appeal to people and players. If until a few years ago no one could think that a top player would go to play with the Citizens, now the situation is totally reversed: Anyone would like to play in the Manchester club, which has now become a relevant club worldwide and which, in all likelihood, will continue to write football history as it has been doing for the last decade.
