Astronomers at the University of British Columbia that there may be as plenty as one Earth-like planet per five Sun-like stars in the Milky Way Galaxy by the use of the statistics from the NASA's Kepler Mission.
Since there are four hundred Billion stars, 70 percent of those are Sun-like stars which ought to have a planet simply like Earth, according to UBC researcher Jaymie Matthews.
Study Co-author, Michelle Kunimoto says that her calculations vicinity a top limit of 0.18 Earth-like planets per G-type star.
The researchers first imitates all the exoplanets (planets outside the Solar System) that Kepler determined then the Planet is either marked as detected or missed and compare the Planets to their catalog for analysis.
With the new data Scientists has the potential to understand the limits of planet formation, evolution theory and even future Exoplanet travel.
Previous, estimates exhibit that there are solely 0.02 Earth-like planets per Sun-like star to more than one per Sun-like star.
