School opening Germany - how to spread COVID fast(er)
Should Germany open the schools again after the Easter holidays?
At first some key facts:
- Today there are almost a million people infected with corona in Europe
- Germany alone has more than 125k cases
- The number of newly infected is currently falling slightly
- In addition, the Prime Ministers are currently consulting with the Chancellor (A. Merkel)
So what can we expect when we open schools again?
- According to the current assessment, the ministry of culture assumes that school operations will start again on 20.April
- The Abitur examination should also take place under special safety precautions
- Other European countries like France want to keep school's closed this school year
So why should we force the weakest in our society to risk their lives and the lives of their relative's? While adult's are currently making themselves punishable if they are too far away from where they live or if they gather in group's.
The state is even willing to waste taxpayers' money on drones and helicopters to hunt down these criminals. Adequate protective clothing for students and teachers is still not available. So if there is only one infection with corona through the school openings, it will rain lawsuit's against the state governments in Germany.
The famous RKI also thinks a fast opening for all students isn't the right way to manage this situation.
update: schools likely closed until May
