Comparing Top 10 Market Cap Digital Assets on Coinbase and Voyager - May 24, 2021

By SirLRonHODLer | Sats and Shills | 24 May 2021

I am going to show the difference in purchasing power of $1,000 on Voyager and Coinbase for the top 10 market cap digital assets (as found on CoinMarketCap.com). The real purpose of this article is to make the general crypto consumer aware of fees associated with each platform because I love transparency. I will not identify what the fees are, for I always encourage you to do your own research, but the result of this test will simply be the amount of each digital asset purchased in each transaction. You will see the Voyager app will always give the customer more crypto for the money AND offers amazing interest rates.

As a summary, below are the digital assets we will be looking at. Ripple (XRP) and Binance Coin (BNB) are not tradable on either US platforms, Dogecoin (DOGE) and PolkaDot (DOT) is not tradable on Coinbase, and Internet Computer (ICP) is not tradable on Voyager.

Tradable Assets on Coinbase and Voyager

Here's the rules: the total instant purchase must equal $1,000. Each screenshot is taken simultaneously.

Let's look at the numbers...

1. Bitcoin BTC (for a more in-depth review of Bitcoin DCA advantages, read my other post)

BTC

With a $1,000 purchase, Voyager gives you 0.025658 BTC ($38,973.93 ask price) and Coinbase gives you 0.02528082 BTC ($38,975.00 ask price). Voyager not only offers a lower ask price, but there is NO COMMISSION FEE, so you automatically get more BTC for your dollar. Voyager also offers 6.25% APY each month for holding 0.01 BTC on the platform, and if you also have 2,500 VGX (utility native token), you are rewarded an extra 1% interest boost! Monthly interest is based on monthly average, and more information can be found on their website.

2. Ethereum ETH (for a more in-depth review of Ethereum advantages on Voyager, read my other post)

ETH

With a $1,000 purchase, Voyager gives you 0.38172 ETH ($2,619.71 ask price) and Coinbase gives you 0.37727664 ETH ($2,611.66 ask price). Even though Coinbase offers a lower asking price, the commission fee on Coinbase takes away ETH from your crypto bags. Voyager also offers 5.25% APY each month for holding 0.5 BTC on the platform, and if you also have 2,500 VGX (utility native token), you are rewarded an extra 1% interest boost! You will have to stake ETH to ETH2 on Coinbase to get 6% APY, and these coins are untradable/unsellable.

3. Tether USDT

USDT

With a $1,000 purchase, Voyager gives you 998.50 USDT ($1.0015 ask price) and Coinbase gives you 978.851747 USDT ($1.0066 ask price). This is a staggering difference in digital assets purchased! Coinbase BOTH charges the customer $14.68 and a significantly higher ask price for this stable coin, and the customer really is at a disadvantage.

5. Cardano ADA

ADA

With a $1,000 purchase, Voyager gives you 637.3 ADA ($1.569 ask price) and Coinbase gives you 632.690959 ($1.56 ask price). Both platforms offer competitive rates for ADA, but Voyager also offers 5.25% APY each month for holding 1,000 ADA on the platform.

6. Dogecoin DOGE

DOGE

With a $1,000 purchase, Voyager gives you 2,756.3 DOGE ($0.3628 ask price) and offers 5.25% APY each month for holding 5,000 DOGE on the platform. Coinbase does not have DOGE as a tradable asset.

8. Polkadot DOT

DOT

With a $1,000 purchase, Voyager gives you 43.308 DOT ($23.09 ask price). Coinbase does not have DOT as a tradable asset.

9. USD Coin USDC

USDC

With a $1,000 purchase, both Voyager and Coinbase give you 1,000 USDC ($1.00 ask price). The major difference is Voyager also offers a huge 9.0% APY each month for holding 100 USDC on the platform, and if you also have 2,500 VGX (utility native token), you are rewarded an extra 1% interest boost! Coinbase offers interest for USDC too, but only 0.15% APY.

10. Internet Computer ICP

ICP

With a $1,000 purchase, Coinbase gives you 6.79420875 ICP ($145.02 ask price). Voyager does not have ICP as a tradable asset.

Final statement: I am not saying don't use Coinbase, for this platforms allow you to purchase digital assets, such a ICP, which are not on Voyager yet, and you as the customer can choose the platform you are most comfortable with. But if you want to trust a publicly traded company with industry leading security and get the MOST for each purchase, my recommendation is: buy every asset you can using Voyager.

My referral link for Voyager is: https://voyager.onelink.me/WNly/referral?af_sub5=D8718B. If you download the app with this link (or use code D8718B) and trade $100, you will get $25 of free Bitcoin added to your account.

Important claims: I am not a financial advisor, this is just data I am presenting from the internet as my reason for using Voyager. Please do your own research before you invest any money. Crypto currency is not FDIC insured. I am a $VYGVF shareholder. I own an air fryer.

I encourage you to check your own apps and compare. I welcome constructive comments, and please follow me on Twitter!!
