REVV x Satoshi Club AMA Recap from 25th of May

Hello, Satoshi clubbers! Another AMA took place in Satoshi Club and we would like to introduce to you the AMA session with our friends from REVV and our guest was @mattsolly — the brand lead at REVV Motorsport. The AMA took place on 25th of May.

The total reward pool was 500$ and has been split into 3 parts.

In this AMA Recap, we will try to summarise the most interesting points for you.

Part 1 — introduction and questions from the Website

Mary | Satoshi Club>
Hello Satoshi Club! We are happy to announce our AMA session with REVV! Welcome to Satoshi Club

Andrés M. | Satoshi Club>
Today we are glad to have our guest @mattsolly. Welcome to Satoshi Club!

Matt Solomon>
Hi everyone! Excited to be here, hello Satoshi Club!!

Andrés M. | Satoshi Club:
Hi friend, how is going on?

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Welcome to Satoshi Club

Matt Solomon:
Great thanks, hope you’re all well! Thanks for having me today!

Mary | Satoshi Club:
We are fine and are excited to know more about REVV

So, let’s start

Matt, usually we ask our guests to introduce yourself and their project

Matt Solomon:
Sounds good! Let’s get into it

Andrés M. | Satoshi Club:

Matt Solomon:
Sure thing, first off I’m Matt — I’m the brand lead at REVV Motorsport. Previously, I was a racer myself actually.

But more about REVV…

In brief, REVV is the utility token that powers the official motorsport content, games and NFT’s in the ecosystem that we are building at Animoca Brands and the only means to experience racing with Formula 1, MotoGP, Formula E, and more on blockchain. It is also a medium in which we bring defi and fintech concepts to gamers as well. Introducing true digital ownership and real value in games creating player-owned economies.

Right now, the vast majority of gamers (2+ billion of them) are playing with virtual assets and virtual currency, but actually they have no value beyond what that specific game allows. Blockchain changes that and REVV is the proxy for that in the world of motorsports gaming, and isn’t restricted by an individual title.

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Why did you decide that you need blockchain for REVV project?

Matt Solomon:
Well, with blockchain and NFTs, you’re able to have true digital ownership like mentioned. But I guess what’s even more important is how our games combine DeFi/Gaming/NFTs. This explains it well: https://cryptonews.com/news/revv-pick-of-the-month-report-revv-review-and-evaluation-8017.htm
One of the things that we offer with REVV since day one, which some of the DeFi products still don’t, is a utility for the token itself. So anything that is earned through staking, or liquidity mining, has an immediate use within the ecosystem. This is the case with both REVV and our NFTs, such as the car NFTs in F1 Delta Time, which yields REVV when they’re staked. Staking of 2019-season NFTs lives right now. The pool totals 8,000,000 REVV with around 1 million REVV left this period.
A lot of what we do is fully functional — these are events and systems that we’ve been running for several months now, with a token that has true utility.

Andrés M. | Satoshi Club:
Are you from Hong Kong, right?

Matt Solomon:
I am! Half Aussie, half Hong Kong-nese myself!

Andrés M. | Satoshi Club:
What are your biggest milestones as a racer?

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Yes, it’s the main reasons why the game industry is moving to blockchain

Matt Solomon:
Had a couple of great memories… I won my first ever GT race in 2013, alongside Mika Hakkinen as my teammate (for those who are unfamiliar, he was a 2-time F1 World Champ, legend!), I also competed in F3 alongside guys like Charles Leclerc, Antonio Giovinazzi, and George Russell, who are all in F1 today!

Yes, it’s definitely the future of gaming — as a gamer, I really see the incredible value that blockchain brings to gaming!

Andrés M. | Satoshi Club:
Is an honor to have you here.

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Wow

Matt Solomon:
Honor is mine! You guys have a great community, and I’m excited to share our project!

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Who is on REVV team? How big is it?

Matt Solomon:
REVV is a part of Animoca Brands, which means we sit alongside our sibling companies such as The Sandbox, Gamee, Quidd and more! Yat Siu heads the charge of course…

In terms of who we have coming to REVV, that’s to be announced soon!

Andrés M. | Satoshi Club:
Thanks for the introduction, we have collected some community questions, let’s learn more about REVV through them, ready to go?

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Your list is one of the best i have ever seen

Matt Solomon:
Sounds good, let’s do it!

Matt Solomon:
Apologies for jumping the gun haha

Mary | Satoshi Club:

Q1 from Telegram User @johana0012
REVV is a standard Ethereum ERC-20 token with commonly used interfaces. It also supports hiring whitelisted operators to provide unapproved REVV token transfers across the company’s entire contract ecosystem. This also provides the potential for frictionless native applications. meta transactions: the ability to drive transactions on the blockchain using REVV as a token payment for gas, without requiring the native ETH token at all. What are the main characteristics that this token fulfills? Is Revv the in-game currency of branded motorsport games produced by Animoca Brands, including F1 ® Delta Tim? Does REVV implement the ERC-165 introspection standard, with the following ERC-165 interfaces supported? Is REVV leveraged as a cross-title utility?

Matt Solomon:

0*PLEfXGupx51aeNGE.jpg

Great question, so going back to what I said before in my false start

REVV is the utility token that powers the official motorsport content, games and NFT’s in the ecosystem that we are building at Animoca Brands and the only means to experience racing with Formula 1, MotoGP, Formula E and more on blockchain. It is also a medium in which we bring defi and fintech concepts to gamers as well.

The token has utility across all our different games within the ecosystem and will continue to support future titles that we develop under REVV. We are exploring options to alleviate the issues surrounding gas, such as layer 2 solutions, of which we announced our partnership with Polygon.

In terms of ERC-165, you can see the chart below, with the following ERC-165 interfaces supported

Chart above i should say!

Mary | Satoshi Club:
What benefits as a REVV token holder i will have?

Matt Solomon:
Right now, we have F1 Delta Time with 2 seasons worth of content behind it, and a third launching this year. We have MotoGP Ignition releasing more card packs in the coming months, and Formula E going into it’s first season this year, so this is still very much the beginning. More motorsport IP (possibly drivers, teams, series) and cross-product features will be introduced, REVV specific NFTs and more seasons of content. There is a very long, exciting road ahead! The REVV token connects it all!

To give you guys some visuals, here’s a video of our F1 Delta Time game mode “Grand Prix” using NFTs to play

Andrés M. | Satoshi Club:
Where we can buy REVV token?

Mary | Satoshi Club:
You told packs

can you give us more info

Matt Solomon:
There are quite a few places to buy REVV at the moment, first off https://revvmotorsport.com/ — but also:

  • Bilaxy
  • Uniswap
  • Sushiswap
  • Kucoin
  • Gate.io
  • Hotbit
  • Bithumb Global
  • MXC
  • Bittrex

Make sure you’re buying the right one! Here’s the contract address 0x89E8416eA5b69863CCb34D3A5C74A86bf5549147

And yes @madamlobster i did say packs haha

Mary | Satoshi Club:
We are interested

Do you have any info you can share now about this event?

Matt Solomon:
So far, we’ve done 2 drops for MotoGP Ignition — our officially licensed MotoGP game. We launched the collectible card packs on Flow actually — the blockchain of NBA Topshot!

The packs did incredibly well, selling out both times! The first drop, we did 9000 packs and sold out in 23 minutes actually! We will have more drops coming in the future, so stay tuned and head over to https://motogp-ignition.com/ to find out more!

Andrés M. | Satoshi Club:
Thanks, a big list of important exchanges

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Also, I got a question if users will be able to buy packs with crypto next time?

We have some your fans here

Matt Solomon:
I know the team is assessing several options for future drops! For the initial drops, we wanted an accessible way for fans of MotoGP as well as crypto/NFT enthusiasts to engage with the platform. You guys can get all the up to date info on these events through our social channels

Q2 from Telegram User @Ajpaa
The policy of BURNING and DEFLATION of token is the trend and sell point of several blockchain projects recently. Why did you decide that REVV token won’t be burned through use, but instead will be reintroduced back into the economy after it is used by players for gameplay fees and NFT purchases? What advantage will the reintroduction of REVV token bring to the ecosystem and community users. Thank you.

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Sure

Matt Solomon:
Discord https://discord.gg/aKGFVrs
Twitter https://twitter.com/F1DeltaTime

Another great question! REVV is technically non-burnable. It was created with a fixed supply of 3 billion tokens, and it will remain as such forever, as guaranteed by the smart-contract implementation. The code can be consulted there: https://github.com/animocabrands/f1dt-ethereum-contracts/blob/master/contracts/token/ERC20/REVV.sol

Since REVV is minted with a fixed supply, new tokens are only unlocked from the larger reserve when new projects are added. This ensures that there is a controlled release of the token.

Any REVV that is paid into the ecosystem in the form of content purchases and gameplay fees, ultimately filters back into the economy as rewards. The economy is designed to have REVV be reintroduced when earned. We are creating engaging, valuable content that encourages this REVV loop to exist.

Outside of the project needs we also do not burn tokens for legal reasons. Projects that burn tokens could be considered a security, we have received legal advice from some of the biggest law firms to ensure that REVV stays as a utility token which makes it safe for exchanges and not run into the kind of difficulties certain projects encounter.

Hey @AndresM77 you know what, I think I missed a couple places that REVV is listed, here’s a better visual representation!

0*6C2wnWCBrorI0Xx9.jpg

Andrés M. | Satoshi Club:
Thank you, Matt, the list is even bigger, congrats.

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Are your team and IDO tokens locked?

Matt Solomon:

Yes there is a lockup period for the IDO and team tokens

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Awesome

Thank you for your answers! Ready to jump to the next question?

Matt Solomon:
Yep!!

Q3 from Telegram User @doithay1617
REVV has been pre-allocated to the first titles that will provide utility to the token, which includes F1® Delta Time and MotoGP™ — up to 30% of total supply. Can you tell us about F1® Delta Time and MotoGP™? How do F1® Delta Time and MotoGP™ use REVV? Does REVV plan to allocate to other titles in the future?

Matt Solomon:
Thanks for the question! You can refer to the graphic above, which shows the allocation to the different titles. Yes future titles will also receive an allocation!

To answer how REVV is used, in brief, it allows for the following:

  • Purchasing of NFTs: Keys, cars, drivers, parts, and events
  • Entry for the Time Trial, Grand Prix, and Elite tournaments
  • Staking and liquidity mining initiatives for content and other rewards

Both the Time Trial Mode, and Grand Prix game modes are live and playable today at www.f1deltatime.com. But in addition to REVV, players will also need to own F1 Delta Time NFTs, too. There is currently a 60,000 REVV pool being competed for right now — with an 8,000,000 REVV NFT staking pool at the same time!

MotoGP Ignition, and Formula-E also use REVV just as deeply — all features and content requiring REVV to participate and purchase — with each adding more utility to REVV. We also have big plans for the future of the wider REVV Motorsport ecosystem… so definitely stay tuned

Andrés M. | Satoshi Club:

0*kkrBquRFHQAA01uf.jpg

Matt Solomon:

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Where we are able to stake and farm REVV now?

Andrés M. | Satoshi Club:
Will you bring more titles in the future? Do you have any on plans?

Matt Solomon:
We have a few ways that staking is used so far. The first release was to earn REVV through staking NFTs. We placed 2 million REVV for earning, and using the same method, we’ll put another 8 million REVV up. You can read about this here: https://f1deltatime.medium.com/the-second-round-of-2019-car-nft-staking-begins-on-22-february-2021-1a0aaad5d1d4

The staking of REVV is currently supported by our Elite Time Trial Event. The stake you provide allows you to participate in the event, and if you do participate, you’ll receive a yield on your stake. The amount of yield being directly related to your performance in the event. This is the latest event for staking REVV: https://f1deltatime.medium.com/elite-time-trial-event-segment-and-tower-special-is-here-46669d24d333

We definitely do! We are also bringing Formula E into the ecosystem — the premier single-seater e-racing series in the world!

Mary | Satoshi Club:

Thank you for your answers, Matt!

Matt Solomon:
We also have some exciting developments with the wider REVV Motorsport ecosystem, and will be announcing details shortly!

Andrés M. | Satoshi Club:
Any approximated launch date for it?

Don’t forget to share the announcements with our community

Matt Solomon:
We’ll have an updated roadmap, which I’ll update you guys on!

Andrés M. | Satoshi Club:
Thank you Matt, ready for the next question?

Matt Solomon:
Lets do it!

Q4 from Telegram user @Jonahapagu
The recent integration of Polygon with REVV, is believed to come with a lot of advantages for REVV ecosystem, such as the switch to a full automatic claim system on rewards, and efficient implementation of the multiplayer system.. so how does this integration help improve the way users will be able to claim and receive their rewards on your platform, how will this lead to a better implementation of multiplayer system for REVV, and what are the other benefits that Polygon brings to your overall Ecosystem

Matt Solomon:
Good one!

Yeah Polygon will be a huge boost to the REVV ecosystem indeed. I’m sure you’ve all interacted with the Ethereum chain in the last few months and felt the effect of rising gas fees… so one big benefit that Polygon will have, is that it minimizes transaction fees and will make your Play-to-Earn experience much more efficient through faster transactions.

Having the claim system will also be great for the players, as right now all the rewards are airdropped manually, so being able to claim them reduces that lag. Also, for the multiplayer aspect, having that added layer of on-chain trust and transparency is a win win!

Andrés M. | Satoshi Club:
Btw, could you tell us more about your current partnerships?

Matt Solomon:
Well at Animoca, the team are real veterans, having spent a good part of the last 3 years investing in a number of strategic partnerships in the blockchain space! It allows us to effectively navigate every aspect of the space, our partnership with Polygon being a great example of this!

Andrés M. | Satoshi Club:
Is a great partnership, it will bring you a lot of benefits I think

well job

Matt Solomon:
Thanks! We’re excited for what’s to come!

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Thank you for your answers! Ready to proceed?

Matt Solomon:
Sure!

Andrés M. | Satoshi Club:
Well Matt, is time to proceed with the 5th question of this exciting AMA

Q5 from Telegram user @xperia3
There are physical collectibles in REVV Motor Sport. What are the requirements to have be eligible for these collectibles and will there be more of these in the future?

Matt Solomon:
You’re all eligible! That is, if you have REVV

We recently launched a collection of physical collectibles with UNDONE. We auctioned 30 beautiful watches, made by UNDONE — the world’s leading bespoke wristwatch label. The auction was conducted with bids solely in REVV.

The sale itself was a hit! Selling out all the watches after the 3-day auction, totaling 556,177 REVV…

You can read more about the partnership here https://revv-token.medium.com/revv-motorsport-introduces-limited-edition-physical-collectible-revv-timepieces-in-partnership-with-c027e07bc3d2

We will definitely look to do more in the future, so make sure you have some REVV ready for the next collection we launch! Let us know what physical collectibles you’d like to see next…

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Don’t stop! It’s awesome event

Andrés M. | Satoshi Club:
Thank you Matt, btw could you tell us what is the major event coming for REVV in this 2021? Please share us your roadmap

Mary | Satoshi Club:

Matt Solomon:
The team is still finalizing the roadmap! I’ll definitely share as soon as I have it

Big ones to look forward to, I’d say F1 Delta Time’s continuous development, MotoGP Ignition’s future drops, as well as release of the game. Formula E will be launching later in the year too! Then there’s also exciting stuff to come with REVV Motorsport and our partnerships, such as the one with leading e-sports and racing team Veloce!

https://www.animocabrands.com/veloce-partners-with-animoca-brands

Mary | Satoshi Club:
Future drops are my favorites

Thanks, Matt! Ready for the 6th and last question from this part?

Matt Solomon:
Yep!

Q6 from Telegram user @garrinepotter
I know that the REVV token has been used on OpenSea to buy some NFTs and that you have been working on bringing REVV to the Flow blockchain. My question is simple: which blockchains are currently available for the REVV token and what integrations await in the future?

Matt Solomon:
Right now, REVV is still on the Ethereum chain as it is an ERC-20 token. We are pushing to bridge over to Polygon and Flow!

With Animoca, we also announced a strategic partnership with BSC, so that may be something that we look at for the future… https://bscdaily.com/the-strategic-partnership-between-animoca-brands-and-the-binance-smart-chain/

Andrés M. | Satoshi Club:
Congrats for it Matt and thank you so much for your answers in this first part of the AMA.

Part 2 — live questions from the Telegram community

Q1 from Telegram user @Robotliker1
You mentioned earlier REVV players need to own F1 Delta Time NFT ,How do I get it and how many should I own it?

Matt Solomon:
So to start playing, you need at least one car, driver, and set of tires from the same season. Right now we have 2019 and 2020 season content. These can be found on https://opensea.io/assets/f1-delta-time

You can also head over to our Discord, where some players put together ‘starter bundles’ for newcomers. This can be very helpful in getting started. We have 4 tiers to race in, A, B, C and D, depending on your team score, which is made up from the boost/scores of your NFTs combined.

Make sure if you buy a TEAM driver, that you have the TEAM car from the SAME season!!

Q2 from Telegram user @Derazy
I do not see a portion for community engagement at REVV Tokenomic Chart. Don’t you consider community as an asset for your project? Can you explain?

Matt Solomon:
The community is integral to both gaming and blockchain. We’ve been very lucky to have players want to get involved early in what we had planned, and we’re always wanting to listen to ideas and suggestions that they have.

We run social competitions such as Tweet campaigns and such, and events like we did during special holidays, where we did a calendar event, gifting to our players REVV and NFTs.

But we are going to go deeper, too. So one thing which has already become a staple in F1 Delta Time is the concept of Teams, and this is something we will support across the entire REVV Motorsport ecosystem, and how different player profiles can get involved — a player, a sponsor, and NFT owner.

Additionally, REVV Motorsport will be entering the world of UGC. We’ll be announcing more on this later, but user and player focused features are the only way to really grow when you’re looking to provide value to the assets that they own. This is doubly important when we deliver interoperability, and how communities and players across the REVV Motorsport games can cooperate, coordinate and player together.

We have great communities right now. MotoGP Ignition and F1 Delta Time have Discords, and then there’s our REVV community on Telegram:

MotoGP Ignition: https://discord.gg/exDFGFA

F1 Delta Time: https://discord.gg/aKGFVrs

REVV: https://t.me/REVVCommunity

Q3 from Telegram user @csgonub
Is it possible to stake REVV tokens and earn NFT’s special to REVV project?

Matt Solomon:
Keep your eyes peeled for LP events!

0*yj3PzP1aQqaVrmRX.jpg

At the start of this year, we launched a REVV x SAND LP Mining event, where players were able to earn exclusive REVV-branded NFTs by providing liquidity for the REVV-SAND pair and then staking the pair’s Liquidity Provider (LP) token. That event has concluded…

BUT make sure you follow the channels to stay in the loop with future events like this one!!

https://revv-token.medium.com/revv-sand-liquidity-mining-event-ea504a6ae195

Q4 from Telegram user @BJosefina61
In sports games, we not only like fun but also be able to interact with other users, my question is, what social or social interaction aspects does REVV have among its users?

Matt Solomon:
We have a very active community on Discord both for F1 Delta Time and MotoGP Ignition!

We are seeing teams formed in F1 Delta Time, and that is a big part of the social interaction. Many of the teams have great ways to bring in new players, to teach them and get them up to speed to start their Play-to-Earn journey!! If you’d like to get started with REVV and P2E, that’s where I’d go, speak to the different teams — we have a great community who are always willing to help!!

F1 Delta Time Discord: https://discord.gg/aKGFVrs
MotoGP Discord: https://discord.gg/exDFGFA

Q5 from Telegram user @Xusuo
I see REVV is a project which combines the Defi and Gaming NFT. I also hear about user possible to get passive income
How does the user possibly get passive income?

Matt Solomon:
YES! NFT staking is a part of our current F1 Delta Time ecosystem. For those who choose to stake their 2019 car NFTs instead of race them, they can earn passive income based on their rarity of car. Common earning the least, Apex earning the most. You can check out this article to understand more on how NFT Staking works in F1 Delta Time. We will have more developments in the future as our ecosystem grows, so stay tuned!

https://f1deltatime.medium.com/the-second-round-of-2019-car-nft-staking-begins-on-22-february-2021-1a0aaad5d1d4

Q6 from Telegram user @lusiana_lambreth
As an automotive project, do you have influencers or ambassadors who could attract a lot of interest from your future token holders? Of course, someone who is influential in the field of cryptocurrency, for example.

Matt Solomon:
In terms of crypto influencers, we have strong ties with many of the prominent figures in the space! For example, the person who bought the first ever F1 Delta Time car “1–1–1”, and the first Apex Event Segment, is none other than the famous, Metakovan!!

We are currently in talks with several key drivers, riders, teams, and manufacturers in the motorsport space! Like mentioned before, we have partnered with a top e-sport company in Veloce, which have an active race team in Extreme E as well as manage Lando Norris’ esports team, Quadrant… more to be announced

https://www.animocabrands.com/metakovan-owner-of-f1deltatime-111

Q7 from Telegram user @Josewen
A fungible token is an asset that can be traded with tokens of the same type, so that a REVV token always has the same value and properties as any other individual REVV token. In which chains is the Revv token developed? What characteristics does the REVV token meet? With REVV can I transact in all games? What is the usefulness of the REVV token? How does the Play-to-Earn model work?

Matt Solomon:
A lot of questions bundled here, but one that I want to explain is how the Play-to-Earn model works! Some of the other ones I believe have been touched upon already

Play-to-earn is a key component of our REVV Motorsport ecosystem. F1 Delta Time is our current active game, with several modes allowing players to earn while playing. The time trial mode is a ‘team setup building’ game, which puts your composition to the test. You have to put the best team together for the particular circuit and weather. At the end of the week, top drivers will be rewarded REVV. The Grand Prix mode is our action-packed skill-based mode where players take their NFTs on track and race against the clock. Again, the top drivers at the end of the events get rewarded. Lastly, staking is a key part of our defi play-to-earn model, which has been mentioned several times!

Q8 from Telegram user @nadee5
Hello sir,
Is your team anonymous?

Matt Solomon:
Not at all!

We have a very strong team, spearheaded by Yat Siu!

Here are some of our advisors and team members:

Q9 from Telegram user @arbestefy
Are you prepared for a big positive demand, is this how you would handle it?

Matt Solomon:
We are prepared and ready for new players! We are constantly growing our ecosystem, with scaling solutions as a key step towards mass adoption! We welcome more players and collectors to be part of the REVV Motorsport Family…

Head to https://revvmotorsport.com/ to get started now!

Q10 from Telegram user @BlancaSdF
My son is a lover of cryptocurrencies, should I teach him this platform, or is it not recommended for minors?

Matt Solomon:
This is great! My little brother (who is 9) is playing F1 Delta Time! He loves cars and racing games, so why not earn some pocket money doing so!!

I believe play-to-earn for games on REVV such as F1 Delta Time, MotoGP Ignition are a great way for young kids to learn about the economics of games early! Don’t buy skins on traditional games, buy NFTs where you can have true digital ownership!

Part 3 — Quiz Results

In the final part, we tested your knowledge in terms of REVV. They’ve prepared 4 questions for this part. The total reward pool for the quiz was 300$.
