The European Union's Digital Europe program has announced the Connecting Europe Facility project, under which Building Blocks are being created as a framework for the provision of cross-border digital services.
Building Blocks
Buildings Blocks is a framework for providing cross-border digital services. These gateways are the totality of solutions that make the framework services work and grow. The solution includes tools from:
- technologies including information technology
- legal instrumentation
- institutional support, including funding from the European Commission and/or individual member states.
- support solutions such as examples of client software implementation, testing scripts, etc.
Service Offering Canvas
The Service Offering Canvas (SOC) is a visual tool developed by the Connecting Europe Facility project authority to model trans-border services for Europe, of which core services may eventually become Build Blocks. SOC does this by mapping services and stakeholders and their workflows, so it is possible to reveal potentials and needs and find paths between them.
Build Blocks protocols developed
As of today, the following nine protocols have been implemented:
eDelivery - A protocol for transferring document data between public and/or private organizations over a computer network or the Internet.
Context Broker - A component that integrates the collected data.
Big Data Test Infrastructure - Environment for harvest processing research made available to public entities.
EBSI - pan-European blockchain network
eArchiving - A protocol for archiving computer data for later use.
eID - Digital identity protocol.
eSignature - Electronic signature protocol.
eInvoicing - Electronic invoice processing platform.
eTranslation - Automatic translation tool.
