Journey of a crypto-lover

As I look back on the projects I joined a couple of years ago, I can sort them into 3 categories:

Applications I use daily

  • Efficient Web3 wallet. Everybody knows it so I won’t expand on it.
  • Coin/XYO. I feel geomining is worth considering, even more so when it is associated with data. They have a sound project. There is clearly a lot of potential here. I use it a lot in my work.
  • Brave browser and BAT. The attention economy. Oh, I won’t quit my job with the income I get but it is always nice to get.

I will not deal with other commercial applications, as I am not advertising in this post.

Applications I would like to see in everyday life

The blockchain is not only about trading, and marketplaces. I would like to see so many more applications that I could use every day. Here are just a couple of examples I wanted to share with you

  • Internet of Things. It used to be a big promise; everything would be “object-based”. I even took a course on the IOTA website that I paid $250. But alas, they changed all the system and everything I learned became useless. What a frustration! Where has all the hype gone?
  • Insurance on the blockchain. I am always searching for a reliable solution.
  • Transparency in governance. In this context, DAOs are so promising.

Promising projects, but …

  • It has been two years I have been mining on this app, but the mainnet is still pending. I feel it is soooo long 😊
  • Very new project. I cannot say anything on that one as I am still on the waiting list. Seems interesting but… let us wait and see

Abandoned projects, or at least those that seem to be:

  • Bitradio: I had written an article here on PublishOx. A couple of months ago, the platform did not work anymore. It seemed to me interesting.
  • It’s not really abandoned, it’s still working, but the tips have become smaller and smaller over the last two years

Experience of a crypto amateur. Working as a gerontologist (science of old age & ageing), I'm not an expert in cryptography and blockchain. However, I started being versed in cryptos in 2017 and I'm still active in it. I want to share my experience with other crypto amateurs, so to say. Let's start now!
