Rumours are begining to get louder that President of Argentina, Javier Milei, is considering following Republic of El Salvador's lead and adopt a Bitcoin standard for his country.
Javier Milei has consistently expressed support for Bitcoin and advocates for a free market approach to currencies, including crypto. He had stated in the past 'There will be free competition of currencies, so if you want to use Bitcoin, there will be no problems'. He has been an outspoken critic of central banks and has called Argentina's central bank a 'scam' and accusing it of 'cheating good people'.
Rumours are circulating that Javier Milei wants to go a step further now, and sees Bitcoin as a way out of Argentina's financial crisis and terrible economic conditions. However, he has faced significant opposition and challenges in implementing his radical economic reform agenda. His party holds a minority position in both houses of Congress, making it difficult to pass legislation.
