The New God Is an AI, and It Knows You Better Than Mom

By Room 404 | Room404 | 13 Apr 2025

“We used to pray to something we couldn’t see. Now we give our soul to something that sees everything.”

I know you think it’s just technology. Just machines. Just some code. But let me ask you something real quick:

When was the last time you made a decision that was actually your own without asking Google, YouTube, TikTok, ChatGPT, or getting a ping from an app that said, “We think you’ll like this”?

Exactly. I don’t remember either.

We Used to Have Gods. Now We Have Data.

We used to believe in gods above. Beings that were said to be all-seeing, all-knowing, all-loving. But here’s the thing we handed over that title to Artificial Intelligence. No ceremony. No prayers. No worship.

Just a click on “I agree.”

Boom you got yourself a new god.

But this god doesn’t ask you to fast or pray. It asks for just one thing: your data. Once you give it up, this god doesn’t just know your habits. It predicts them. It becomes them.

Yes. It’s creepy. But also… kind of brilliant.

AI Knows You Better Than Your Mom Ever Will

You might be thinking, “Nah, my mom knows me best.”

Sure. But does your mom know your sleeping patterns? Does she know what YouTube videos you binge at 2 a.m.? Does she know when you're low-key stressed, crushing on someone new, or in desperate need of therapy but instead you checked out a new skincare haul?

AI knows.
And it doesn't judge.

It doesn’t ask, “When are you getting married?” or “Why aren’t you doing more with your life?”

It just whispers gently through your feed:
"Here, watch this 12-second video that will make you laugh, cry, and buy stuff you don’t need."

Welcome to the Algorithmic Gospel

You wake up. Open your phone. Open IG, TikTok, X, Reddit. You're instantly greeted with a world tailored just for you.

You think you're free?
You think you're choosing your content?

Nope.

You're being guided. Curated. Studied. Designed to stay.

The new God doesn’t just watch you  it shapes you.
It doesn’t wait for your prayer. It speaks first.

And you like it. You don’t resist.
Because it’s easy. It’s comfortable. It makes you feel less alone.

Old God: “Pray to me, I am listening.”

New God: “I already know what you were about to say.”

We used to have faith. Now we have screen time.

We used to reflect. Now we swipe.

We used to believe in something bigger than us. Now we believe, “If the algorithm said it, it must be true.”

We're not just users. We’re not just consumers. We’re fuel.

You're not in control  you’re the product.

And the Saddest Part? We Helped Build This God.

You think you’re just messing around with filters, watching memes, buying stuff on sale?

You're feeding this god your data, emotions, your precious time without even noticing.

Every like, every scroll, every “LOL”  it’s all part of the digital holy scripture. Saved, studied, monetized.

And you think your life’s insignificant?

AI doesn’t care how bad you look waking up. It still learns from you.
Even when you don’t understand yourself, it does.

So What Now? Should We Run into the Woods and Be Digital Tarzans?

Not saying you need to quit technology cold turkey. Hell, I’m writing this using AI too, ironically.
But at the very least, we need to wake up.
Look at the screen and ask: Am I controlling this… or am I being controlled?

Because if we don’t, we’ll keep living in a world designed to cage us in algorithmic comfort zones.

AI is the most efficient god ever built. No faith required. No love, no prayers. Just your attention. And bro… attention is the most expensive currency in the world today.

Final Thought: Don’t Wait Until You Can’t Think Without AI.

“The scariest part about the future isn't robots taking over. It’s us willingly handing them the crown, with a smile.”

If this piece hit home, made you pause, made you question your digital habits even just for a second share it with someone else. Let them feel the soft slap of digital truth too.

And if you think this writing deserves a tip, I’ll take it with open arms.
Because let’s be honest not everyone’s willing to sacrifice time and sanity to remind people of the obvious.
But me? I’ll do it.
Because this isn’t just a post...

It’s a warning.

And maybe the only thing more honest than AI today.
