We think we’re free. But most of the time, it’s an algorithm heartless and unseen making the choices for us. And the wild part? We trust it more than we trust people."
Ever scrolled TikTok and suddenly got hit by a video that felt like it read your mind without you ever saying a word about it?
That’s not intuition. That’s the algorithm.
And honestly, it might already know you better than you know yourself.
Reflective Section:
These days, we’re proud of our choices.
But what if most of them weren’t really ours?
You like crypto? Maybe not because you’re financially enlightened, but because the last three months, your feed has been feeding you “How to escape the 9 to 5” content.
You bought Token X? Not from research but because that influencer with great lighting and a $300 mic said “trust me, bro.”
And yet, you say: "This is my decision."
But… is it?
Blockchain vs Social Algorithms
That’s why I’ve grown attached to blockchain.
In a world full of bias and manipulation, blockchain doesn’t promise miracles it gives you one thing: transparency.
Blockchain is brutal.
It doesn’t care who you are, where you’re from, or how many likes you get.
It only cares about one thing: is your data valid or not?
Meanwhile, social algorithms curate your reality without ever telling you who they work for.
Us vs Ourselves
I’m not writing this to make you paranoid.
I’m writing this because I’ve started wondering:
Are we really choosing our paths, or are we just one of the billions being curated by invisible filters?
And if that’s true...
How do we take back control?
Maybe blockchain can help. Maybe not.
But at least it taught me this: trust should always come with proof.
Life feels like a game running on auto-pilot, but you’re still holding the joystick just to feel involved.
Still sure your choices are truly yours?
