Lamborghini recently announced that they have integrated Alexa in their 2020 Huracán Evo, we love this fusion of hardware and software in the automotive space. Not only from the aspect of voice commands for digital services but also for driver enhanced functionality and safety.
I remember the days of fiddling with CDs on the go, not smart I know but sometimes you want a change of music. Then CD players evolved and they had cartridges that could take as many as 12 CD's and controlled by the head unit. But still the inconvenience of having to dig in the boot (trunk) of the car to change CDs to update your playlist.
Fast forward to 2020 we now have an amazing proliferation of epic in-car entertainment options and as a global music collective supporting artist development and growth in new sectors, we love the innovation taking place. But what if there was a blockchain streaming service also connected via Amazon and Apple Car Play, which enables the token distribution of revenue directly to the artist also, 24/7 on the go. There are several music blockchain platforms in various stages of deployment already in the ecosystem, this seems a logical future step of IOT via blockchain tech, and is just a matter of time I am sure.
"For the Love of Music"
The Huracán EVO family in 2020 will feature Alexa, the cloud-based voice service from Amazon, thus enhancing its exhilarating driving experience. The first Huracán EVO equipped with Alexa is showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas (January 7-10, 2020), making Lamborghini the first automaker to feature Amazon Alexa in-car control.
For the first time in a super sports car, Huracán EVO introduces an infotainment system connected with digital services. Now its lucky drivers can adjust functions such as climate, interior lighting and seat heating with a simple voice command while focusing on the road ahead. Also, the LDVI (Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata) on the four-wheel-drive EVO integrates Alexa with a new level of voice-activation being reached. Calls, directions, music, audiobooks, news, weather… you just need to ask!
The Alexa integration is not just in the car. In fact, Lamborghini owners are also connected to the devices that work with Alexa and can control them directly from the car with simple voice interaction: from entry gates to thermostats and lights.
The strategic collaboration with Amazon is also implemented in the enhanced Human Machine Interface (HMI), which will provide continuous updating of Alexa’s operation within Lamborghini models. Both companies are working to develop further connectivity innovations and integration with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
