I prefer glory; I would rather associate myself with it than with power. Power can give one influence and authority, and can give someone the ability to influence important decisions, but in my opinion being remembered for meaningful achievements and positive influence is more valuable. Glory is more than fame and attention, in my opinion. It's about being known for doing good, achieving meaningful goals, and making a positive mark on others, if you will.
Sometimes power can certainly be attractive. A strong person could be capable of changing situations, leading people, and making decisions according to his vision. But power can be short lived too. When circumstances change, a person can lose his or her position, power, and respect. Furthermore, not everyone respects and appreciates someone when he/she has power. There are people out there who have to follow someone simply because they are powerful but they don't necessarily follow somebody because they are a role model.
Glory, on the other hand, can be gained from meaningful achievements that remain significant long after they are accomplished. I prefer to be remembered for doing something useful, creative, inspiring rather than being given authority over others. Positive contributions to society, such as scientists, writers, teachers, artists, and humanitarian figures are often recalled. Their work can leave a lasting legacy and have an impact on people's lives long after they are gone. This sort of honor is what I would wish for.
If I were to become famous, I would want my popularity to be associated with something positive. I would like people to associate my name with dedication, creativity, success and positive contributions. I don't want to be in the public eye all the time, 24 hours a day, so I wouldn't want to be famous just for that. Rather, I would prefer to win their respect by my true efforts and achievements. As I see it, there's a vast distinction between fame and respect.
Another reason I would choose glory is that others can be inspired by it. When we see someone achieve something positive despite difficulties and challenges, people may feel motivated to pursue their dreams themselves. So it is not necessary to be self-serving in the quest for glory. When it is gained by good work it may be a source of encouragement to others. I would get more pleasure from knowing that I could motivate someone and get them to do something better, than I would find more satisfaction in inspiring someone to achieve more than in simply having power over them.
In the end I would select glory, because I want there to be something more to my life than this present moment. I would like to be remembered for the positive things I accomplished. I would rather have people remember my name with appreciation and recognize the value of my work. While power can provide control for a while, true glory can provide a legacy that endures.
