It comes as no surprise to me that a pizza chain is incorporating a familiar flavor into its offerings. Specifically, let's flashback to a thread from the official Doritos account, which featured an image of Cool Ranch Doritos flavored seltzer water (it was a joke). Behind the scenes, something else was brewing:

It seems pretty obvious now that Papa Johns already had the wheels in motion on this collaboration. Confirmation of the new offering can be found in many forms. Here's a North Dakota location, which already has the Doritos-inspired papadia on their website:

Furthermore, insider leaks reveal the ingredients already in store inventories and a timeline revealing when the product will be come available nationwide:

So here's what we can gather so far about the Cool Ranch Doritos Papadia:

• Sauced with Cool Ranch Doritos flavored dressing
• Sprinkled with Cool Ranch Doritos seasoning
• Comes with tomatoes, onions, cheese & choice of meat (sausage, bacon, chicken, steak, pepperoni, etc.)
• Available nationwide on May 4, 2023 until July 23, 2023

This isn't the first time Papa Johns has used chips for a limited edition collaboration menu item. Back in 2014, a Fritos chili pizza was offered as a promotional item. The pizza flopped, as many complained it was a soggy mess and the Fritos lost their crunch by sitting atop the hot pizza. It definitely looked a lot better in the advertisements:

They won't be the first fast food restaurant to feature the Cool Ranch Doritos; recall that Taco Bell already offers it in taco shell form for the their "Doritos Locos" tacos. Just exactly how it will taste in a Papa Johns "Papadia" remains to be seen, but we will find out soon enough. Hold onto your taste buds.
