While there is no official word yet from the fast food chain, it appears that a trademark filed in January reveals that a Baja Blast ice cream may be coming. The trademark page shows that the intended product is under the category of frozen confections/ice cream. The SodaSeekers Instagram page created the above mock-up as a foretelling teaser; it's not an official image from Taco Bell.
I think that the tropical lime flavor would make a good ice cream, but it's hard to imagine it being sold in the restaurants themselves. I see this more as a novelty that would be sold in convenience or grocery stores. At this point, however, everything regarding the Baja Blast ice cream is pure speculation. It's expected that the product is going to be available sometime this summer, with one source reporting national availability from June 28th to August 2nd.
Stay hungry, friends and keep an eye out for how this frozen treat may be served. Will it come served in a taco cone? Perhaps inside of a Cinnabon Delight? Maybe it will only be available by the pint. We'll just have to wait and see.
