Last month, it was announced that filming for a pilot episode of The Spook Who Sat by the Door would begin in Baltimore, Maryland. Based upon the 1969 novel by American writer Samuel Greenlee, the production is being led by Academy Award winner Lee Daniels. If the episode proves successful, it could lead to an FX television series.
Baltimore is being used as the backdrop for the pilot. The setting is 1960's Washington, DC. Lots of classic cars from the era are being used in the production. I just so happened to stumble upon the auxiliary lot, where the antique autos are awaiting their screen time. I was a bit nervous that someone involved with the production would come and tell me to get lost, but I just went ahead started snapping pictures. Not being too much of an expert, I'll let the photos speak for themselves:
II can't wait to see the pilot episode and look out for these beauties! There is no set air date yet and clearly production has not yet wrapped up. As an outsider, it's always interesting to see what goes on behind the scenes before the finished product comes out.
