The beach is a place where one can thrive on meditating on mortality. First off, looking at the ocean gives you a view of something so very expansive. It seems infinite.
The horizon calls you to it. If youve never looked at the vast ocean and thought about walking and swimming to find the end of it, you're not really alive. The waves represent an absense of that same finality an entice you to dream of the end furrher.
Meditating on mortality is quite freeing. Once you fully grasp the concept that you will soon die, you are able to go about your everyday tasks more freely. And in contrast, you will find yourself able to eleminate tasks that you are regularly accustomed to that serve you no substantial purpose.
