The starname is human readable address like: *ricciospacca which can be used to receive crypto-payments instead of using very complex and difficult alpha numeric codes for the addresses of our crypto. The asterisk is intended as a product identifier just like the @, URL, etc. are used.
They raised around 5 millions euros in an ICO starting in May 2018 and they launched the first blockchain in October 2019 based on Tendermint.
You can associate and dissociate your crypto addresses from your starname at will (I can create different starnames as needed).

Starname IOV can be purchased by credit card directly on the website or on Bilaxy. Recently they are also listed on Uniswap.
On mobile, you can register a name on the Cosmostation mobile app. You need a few tokens to register a Starname, and IOV tokens are easily available on Uniswap (WIOV token). You can send them to Starname in Cosmostation. Soon we will be able to add FIAT euro payment and other FIAT currency (we will be able to accept fiat payment and then it will be converted into the crypt of our choice directly😀).
There are 2 types of star names called starname basic edition and starname premium edition, with the premium you can customize as you like example *ricciospacca.
They have partnered with Cosmostation, Ledger & Keplr, Request Network, WalletConnect, Band Protocol and Savitar.
At the moment you can stake (3 days of unstake) on cosmostation and get a 13% fees reward per year minimum (actually 19% right now!!!).
