Coinbase could enable users (even institutional) one-click access to DeFi.

This prediction might not be as wild as you think.

FACT #1

Coinbase has had its share of controversy, but it is a publicly-traded company, and whatever it does could set the tone for the entire crypto market.

FACT #2

Regulation for crypto is coming. There is no way around it. What exactly will be regulated is hard to predict, but one thing is sure – if a cryptocurrency is centralized, it has a higher chance to get unwanted attention and scrutiny from SEC or other financial institutions.

FACT #3

A sufficiently decentralized cryptocurrency might avoid excessive regulations (BTC is a great example). What also could fit into this category are DeFi Projects.

Just imagine this:

1. A centralized cryptocurrency exchange that is publicly traded – Coinbase, starts its support for DeFi projects.
2. A direct interaction from Coinbase into DeFi protocol pools is enabled.
3. Users – not just individuals, but also investing funds, can use the Coinbase interface as a bridge between centralized and decentralized DeFi.
4. “Smart money” starts flowing into DeFi.
5. DeFi goes mainstream.
