Just as excited as I am with Atlas Earth, there is another app that I am happy with.  This one is called Upside.  

Upside can be downloaded to your phone and the way it works, on a top down level, is that you find things on the map near you, deals at either stores or gas stations and then you click the claim button and then you claim them.  Then after you are done, you click the "I've paid" button and get money.

Companies and brands pay Upside a small fee, like an advertising fee, in order to push their store.  They then offer a discount to the shopper, which is then paid back in terms of "cash back" through Upside.  

So for instance/example: I need to buy gas for my car anyway.  Instead of going to the local QuickTrip, which has Regular Unleaded Gas at $3.66 a gallon, Upside will recommend me gas station deals within the area.  Here it is recommending that I go to Circle K, which has Regular Unleaded Gas at the same $3.66 a gallon, but is offering me 13 cents cash back on ever gallon I buy.  

I drive a Jeep with the 22 gallon tank, so a normal half tank fill-up is around 14 gallons.  So while my cost is around $50 to fill up my tank, I get about $1.82 back in my account, after filling up!

 This app also works with convenience stores, restaurants and grocery stores.   

YES, you are selling your data to Upside. You are selling them how much you buy, what products you buy and what location you are at when you bought them.  Your cash back deals take about 24 hours to register and show up in your account.  When you have more than $1, I think, you can cash out.  I know I cashed out when I had $6 and they charged me a dollar because I had under $10.  But I recently cashed out at the end of October with $26.81.  

Let's say that you have family or friends.  The referral is great for gaining extra.  For the first time, a person you refer uses the app for a purchase they will receive an extra $7 cash back!  This is not a joke.  I refer you, you use the app and make a purchase somewhere, you get an extra $7 and I get an extra $7 as well.  In return, Upside now has your data and more of my data.

If you refer someone, every time they use the app and buy gas, you will earn 1 cent per gallon, every time they pay.  Every time.  

If you read my posts and look around and are wondering how to gain extra money, do this.  I am so serious.  You have to get gas and groceries anyway, why not get something back from your purchases?
