Moonlight

By Shelley M. Latreille

Walking

In the moonlit mist, the moon so bright,
I walk blinded by the light.
I am unaware of my future plight.
It is so hard to see without my sight.
My breath feels shallow and so tight.
I begin to wonder as I wander on that bleak night.
My epiphany was we are nothing more than a termite.
