Lazy Eye

By Shelley M. Latreille

Window

Your lazy eye moves about your face in an unpredictable
manner, leering at me in a non-traditional way.
It frightens, yet excites me.
Your lazy eye is cursed with a lucid clarity and a brutal honesty.
Your lazy eye exploits your inner most thoughts, robbing your mind of its existence.
It exploits your experience and delves into the depths of your imagination.
Your lazy eye threatens all who dare enter your plane of existence.
It’s a dangerous entity for it will not allow you to clear your mind.
I felt elated when you cut your lazy eye from your forehead
and set it free down the drain of animosity.
Catastrophically your two other eyes that had been fixed in place
soon did follow your lazy eye, never to be seen again.
