Fear

By Shelley M. Latreille

Great Salt Lake

There’s nothing in the world like it.
Me and my shadow, as we dance horribly about.
I shake from the utter loneliness, as the world stares in disbelief.
I am an outcast in their eyes.
The dead, alienated bitches, dance fearlessly with me always,
for they know the sticky truth of the ages.
The bitterness and rage have quelled throughout the years.
The alienation of the life long forgotten has become one with my egotistic shadow.
They are all caught in the snares of the Great Wall, but one day soon it will all END.
We will be in the same ghoulish place, and only then, will they all accept the fact that
I DID EXIST WITH THEM.
I AM ALIVE,
even though they seem to deny it with their invaluable fear.
