Splinterlands Battle Mage Challenge: Weak Magic - 51 Health Line Up Destroyed in 3 ROUNDS!!!

This week's Battle Mage rule set challenge was Weak Magic in which magic hits armour!

Weak Magic general strategy....

Defensively, it makes sense of favour shields and repair, given that magic how has no advantage over ranged and melee.

I think it's really just about going for a diversified all-out damage strategy as far as possible.

Offensively shatter could be a good idea!

Weak Magic battle exemplar

The battle below shows a battle which my opponent stupidly loses by focussing exclusively on magic.

Mana and rulesets:

  • High mana 49!
  • Only weak magic...

summoner - Yodin - for that extra blast damage

  1. Grum - a great tank with plenty shields
  2. Junker - a great second tank, with reach and repair for Grum
  3. Dwarven Wizar - snipe 1
  4. Mantoid - snipe 2!
  5. Centaur - snipe 3!
  6. Cornealus - awesome damage and great snipe protection!

The battle...

  • round 1 - we trade blows for no losses, my melee and ranged attacks are carving through my opponent's void tank!
  • round 2 - Early on I take out Torhillo and Osheanus, this is only going one way now! Late on I take out Narissa (told you!)
  • round 3 - I take out Captain's Ghost and then the Wavesmith straight of the bat and then finish my opponent off!

Final battle analysis

My opponent made the fatal mistake of trying to call my bluff, but I ignored magic almost entirely and bossed the shit out of him.

ALL that health gone in three rounds, what a staggering on loss on his part!

Weak Magic final thoughts...

DON'T USE MAGIC!

In the summer of 2014, when I turned 41, I set myself the goal of retiring from paid-work by the age of 52. This blog charts my own strategy and progress, and explores different theories of financial independence and 'extreme early retirement'. It also provides the odd tip on how you might also retire early!
